    Had a mushy stock tune.
Went with Pedal Commander. Things were better but not great.
Went with KD Max tune (level 3, lower octane) and generally all is well. Driveability improved, less gear-hunting on grades, etc.
But....to resolve the gear-hunting, this tune winds up with a trait I'll describe as a dead pedal feel at 60-70 on freeway. Pedal travel does not really bring any acceleration during this occurrence.
Has anyone used both a KD or OV tune AND a Pedal Commander?

Using a pedal commander or anything similar while tuned is very likely to cause limp mode. Seen it multiple times now.

You should not run both. Limp mode likely, especially in ECT mode + Pedal commander.

Why not contact @PapaRee or your tuner to see if your tune can be customized to address your concerns?

Not sure how long ago you were tuned, but that dead pedal area has been addressed and improved. Get in touch with whomever tuned you and get it updated. You could also go up a setting on the throttle to help.

Should not be much. Just a little for their time. Maybe $50,

Even on a stock tune PC will cause issues and the truck will go into limp mode. Actually happened to my buddy on his 17 sport. It worked ok for few months then he got a CEL and his truck went into limp mode.

True. But I've also received phone calls immediately after walking someone through the flashing process because of limp mode and the PC still being plugged in. It's almost an immediate limp mode when you throw a tune on.

I would never run PC with the tune, that’s asking for trouble. Tune already addresses the throttle lag, I really don’t get why folks do that.

Some people don't know. I have even had customers show up with one installed. Waited until they uninstalled it before moving forward.

    Ask my accountant
Lol, i love these threads. Been using kdmax tune and PC since july. Throttle is too touchy for me. I use it on and off, with ECT and s mode all together and all possible combinations. Never had a light and never seen limp mode. Had the PC alone since last December with no issues. Just dont change settings while inputting any throttle. Im ready for the barrage of hate. Just my experience.

Wonder if that's what causes it. Would be interesting to find out what the issue is between the two.

There is another TW member on here that’s running PC and a tune. According to him he switches it on the fly and he never reported any issues. The truck is manual if it makes any difference.

I would never do that though, I take my truck to remote places and don’t wanna take a chance on things going wrong. I’m very happy with premium SFOB though.

    Is your truck manual?
