I have, well had, a second cousin. We weren’t close. We said hello if we saw each other. Well, yesterday his mailman found him dead. Since I’m the only one with the same name in town the police called me. I said do whatever you do with dead people.
But he really doesn’t have anyone. So I’m not sure what to do.

Most county coroner’s offices have a fund to bury the indigent. They will first advertise in the obituary section for next of kin. If none are found that will be responsible for funeral costs, they either get cremated or buried in an unmarked grave.

Not really rich but he does have some paid for assets. A huge gun collection. Reloading equipment. An old bronco and a jeep. A house in the crappy part of town. A lot of antique stuff

 

He’s gone, nothing left to say. Just listen if someone is asking for your help and advise and from there make your decision.

Far as no family to come back and sue… I mean wouldn’t the state just take it all .. wouldn’t know about how to get ur name on anything .. or access for accounts for funeral expenses
