So just got our new '20 Tacoma and noticed this morning that the clock on the radio didn't update with DST. Our previous '16 always did, and my '16 Tundra did. Is there a setting we need to turn on for it to update? Anyone else's not update? Just curious. Thanks..!

I believe there should be a setting in the stereo, I remember seeing a box you could check or uncheck for DST.

In the settings you can select it to use GPS time. I can't remember the exact wording, but it's in there. Then it will automatically set the clock for time zones and DST.

Auto DST needs to be selected in the settings.

    1. Press the “Settings” button that is in the shape of a gear in the upper right hand corner of your touchscreen display.
    2. Press “General” button on screen.
    3. Choose “Clock” under general settings.
    4. Check the box for “Daylight Savings Time”

One day I got in mine and the time was off. Started it up after work and it was all good. Hiccup I guess.

I know this thread is 2yrs old. I figured it was better than starting a new one. My 17 automatically updated. I think it went off my phone. Got a 2020 this year and I can't get the time to update even though my phone is connected via Bluetooth. I looked through the settings and it is set for EST which is correct with the daylight savings time option. It's like it needs to know the date or something and I haven't figured out where it is. I've shut it off and on probably 6 times since the time change and haven't had any luck with it updating on its own

I have a 2020 SR5 with just the basic OEM head unit. My clock also did not auto-adjust from DST to standard time. Had to go into the clock settings and turn off "Auto adjust by GPS" and then could manually adjust the clock.

Ha, this just got me today. Showed up to a meeting an hour early.
Set to update for dst and set to update from GPS, still had the wrong time.

turned the auto features off and just set the time.

To bypass many of these steps just touch the actual clock on the screen and it take you to the same screen.

I ended up just turning off the auto dst and it went back an hour. Kind of annoying. With all the technology and they found a way to booger up something that wasn't broken.

Arizona got no DST - love it.

Story goes that when all this started in the U.S. , around 1918, a delegation of Native Americans protested
because an extra hour of sunlight would wreck havoc on their crops....

Extra sunlight. Lol...the irony is in the meme with a native American saying "only a white man can cut an inch off a blanket to sew it on at the other end and say it's longer".

    Yes!

I did that by accident (touch the clock on the screen) after going through the gamut of those steps mentioned.

Then when I got there...I was expecting to see numbers I could adjust...then by pressing the daylight savings button and turning it off, I see it dropped back an hour.

Tedious but I should remember how to do this in the spring.

Yes, I discovered that yesterday as well, too simple yet so hard to figure out. Honestly I'm sure I turned on the DST option in the spring and forgot about it.

I just checked my 2021, and lo and behold it was still on Daylight Savings Time. So, I discovered that it doesn't switch over automatically. You have to go into the settings menu and manually turn off the DST. Then, in the spring, you turn it back on.

I think my 2018 does it automatically via blutooth with my phone...no?

which, if you think about it, is the most moronic thing ever. Instead of pushing one button to change the hour (once in spring, once in fall) instead you have to push one button to turn DST on/off (once in spring, once in fall).

There is an "automatic" setting that you also need to turn on for the DST change to happen automatically. Just did it last week on my 2021.
