Day 5 of OTC archery and I have yet to see a buck. Seen plenty of does and bull elk. Saw on this morning that will probably go 360”

It's been tough so far. The rain is great but the growth is unreal. I've seen a few bucks and they were all hanging in the thick low areas. Usually August is a good time to sit water but there is water everywhere. Tough season so far.

I’ve seen afew down towards Wilcox in 32. 1 spike 2 3x3s and 1 small 4x4 I watched him for about an hour waiting for him to bed but he went under the peak I was sitting on. when I came down the mountain and circled around I couldn’t find him oh well. hitting 36a this weekend to scout for a buddy’s coues hunt and if I see a nice buck I’ll put a stock on him.

Saw a coal black sow with a cinnamon cub this morning. Plenty of does, still no buck. I don’t think I’ve gone this long on a hunt without seeing a buck.

Edit: tonight I saw a coues deer so big I first thought it was a mule deer. Without a doubt the biggest coues deer I have ever seen.

Anyone hunt with a .32 special? Got an old Winchester 94 chambered in .32, iron sights, really wanna do a hunt with it. I’ve looked at what the internets say about the ballistics and all that and from the numbers it’s a pretty shitty round as far as distance goes, but will pretty much blast through thick brush like a bulldozer. Just curious if anyone has any experience with this particular round that can speak any truth to these claims.

How’s everyone doing on elk? Just spent five days chasing a cow (buddy mistakingly applied for cow and not bull) and we managed to get a real nice bull with 10 yards. Amazing to see up front, disappointing we couldn’t do anything about it. Couldn’t seal the deal on any cows, but fun being out there in the middle of the rut.

I just got home from camping on FR231, I was up there for a week. I have never seen the forest so full of hunters, massive camps set-up, quads an side x sides ripping up and down the roads. I was not hunting but saw at at least 20 elk on walks with my dog. I saw a strange looking deer size thing with spots and short twisted horns, any help identifying would be appreciated. 231 is a mess BTW.

Damn, been wanting some 15s for december/January, and this is the best price I can find them for as long as they are the slc HDs. But still swaro seems to be out of my price range, well at least mentally. Ill probably make do with my razor hd w/ swaro eyepiece for another season, unless anyone wants to buy that...

i hear you on the price range, but it’s one of those things that hurts once. When I started out I went through 2-3 pairs of binos before buying the swaros, adding it all up I was only a couple hundred off from buying the swaros out right.

If you decide to pull the trigger let me know, I’ve got access to the entire Swaro line.

I'm in the market for some rangefinder/binos. Preferably Leica Geovid's if anyone has a line on some. I figured its 2021, plus I'm tired of verifying the deer I want to shoot, picking up my rangefinder to range the deer, then drawing back and shooting. Yes I know it sounds lazy, but when your spot and stalking or still hunting doing it all in one motion would be nice for those hurry up and shoot situations.

Totally understand where you're coming from if you're bow hunting, stuff happens quick when they are in bow range and the last think you want to do is make anymore movement than you have to... I don't have access to leica's but if you want the swaro bino/range let me know.

I’ll consider it. My dad has a swaro 60 power spotting scope. Clearest glass I’ve ever looked through. Ideally I’d want something with angle compensation too.

Unit 10 cow hunt was a success. 2 out of the 3 tags were filled. Monday the winds were strong enough to ruin two of our pop ups so decided to head out on Tuesday morning.

Fellow AZ hunters. Are you tired of being bounced around in your truck on dirt roads? Are you also tired of scratching that sweet paint job while out hunting? Well look no farther, I am selling my ATV. I'm wanting to upgrade to something better, theres nothing wrong with my current. I am firm on the price because like I said, I'm wanting to upgrade, I don't need to upgrade.

Got my buddy’s wife on her 1st Coues Deer last weekend he drew 36a and she got 34a same hunt dates. We watched him feed over the hill for 2 hours before he bedded down for the day. She toughed it out behind the scope for 5 1/2 hours before he finally stood up and took a few steps and she smoked him at 435 yards. He was bigger than I thought when I first got eyes on him and she was pretty happy I talked her out of the spike opening morning.
