400DDDF4-A8A9-41A4-87DF-75B3AAC033A4.jpg I’ve had this one for about two years and I can’t believe how much I like it. The next one I get I’m going to get a partially serrated tonto so it’s more useful for daily tasks.

That's pretty much how all spydie lockbacks are even my native chief takes a good wrist flick to open and some movement to get it to close. It's kinda the nature of a lockback.

Good to know. My para 3 is a compression lock so it is a different animal. I did see a video of a review of someone lil native lockback and when he hit his button, the blade would drop half way down to a 45 degree and then need assistance to close the rest of the way. So after seeing that I assumed mine should be looser.
I can flick it pretty hard with my thumb and wrist action and it will open about 80-90% and then stop. I have to push with my thumb to get it the rest of the way.

As you use it it'll loosen up some. You can also add some (drop) KPL to the part of the blade that the lockback rides when it's being opened and closed that'll help. That's what I do. Same with some adjusting the pivot and oiling the bushing lightly will help. All the spydercos I've ever bought had a tight pivot

I got it second hand for $70 so it's use is unknown but the description said 'barely used at all" so hopefully me using it more will loosen it up some. Thanks for the suggestions!

I can't speak for that knife in particular, but Cold Steel are usually pretty functional, durable knives.

How do you like the Scoria? It's been in my wishlist since it came out but I can't decide which version to get.

I just got it yesterday. I grabbed the Knife center exclusive with the black/orange g10. I kinda have a thing for their exclusives like that. Off the bat it kinda reminds me of a flipper feldspar. I'll carry it next week to work and put it through its paces and let you know
