Looking for a set of Predator step bars that someone is taking off. Had a deal lined up but fell threw. Live in CT work in NYC.

 

What is this setup vs a billys 1500 with OME leaf pack? Thinking maybe overkill?

 

Overkil no, a lot better yes. What do you need a whole new leaf pack for?

 

Want to increase the load capacity. My boat squats a tiny bit when trailering and I don't love that.

 

The ICON 3 Leaf will help with that. Brandon's is squatting a little as I had that leaf pack for about 6 years with the ICON Leaf pack on it.

 

@Unchained 5150 Dakar Medium-Duty Leafpack is that i am thinking. Brandon also has a billion pounds on his all the time.

 

To me the Dakar is overkill.

 

Age is a big factor, yeah.

I ride with at least 260lb load all the time (diamondback and bed rack combined). Probably more with all the other stuff in the truck.

 

Some post are claiming that the 2.0 have 40k like in them. wow.....

I highly recommend replacing the stock hot garbage leaf pack with Dakars/Deavers, instead of adding a leaf. Been there, done that, buy once cry once, do it right the first time. I added a leaf to my Dakars when I added weight to the truck.

 

I guess I had a bed rack, RTT, heavy dual battery set up in the bed. Fridge freezer, Wilco Hitchgate with spare tire on it. For 5.5 years with rear KINGS and never a sag in height in all those years. While he puts maybe a 1,000 miles a year on it DAKARS are definitely overkill.

 

He's getting more miles now, lol, but I think the main kicker would be the towing of the boat. Would doing an AAL and sumosprings be enough you think?

If you’re looking to only increase load capacity while towing and the truck is mainly a daily you could add bags? I’m kinda in a similar predicament.
