Just unplug the wired one and it should work. I tested both and found the built in to work better.

This is how I do mine too. As soon as I am out of range of my house wifi, the headunit switches over to my phones wifi

So I decided to try this unit again since it was Android 10 now instead of 8. Initial install was straight forward but ran into the issue of neither camera working and no steering wheel controls. After some fiddling/troubleshooting, I found that if I disconnected my front camera module I get steering wheel controls and my OEM backup camera working just fine. I have the Germes Lab/Car Solutions front camera kit. Has anyone gotten this to work with the Joying?

    hey guys following up here.

i disconnected the external mic to use the internal and am told that the sound volume and quality is better, but it still sounds like im far away and i have to raise my voice for anyone to clearly hear me. has anyone else had this issue? is there anyway to adjust the mic input sensitivity or something?

also the unit seems to be kinda buggy in general, even with the latest firmware, but having CarPlay is worth it regardless so i think i will live with it. especially for only $300 (used from Amazon Warehouse)

I got a response from Joying about the Germes Lab/Car Solutions module. It does not work with this unit. So there's that. Not sure if I want to swap it out for the Anytime Camera option. I do like my front camera.

Still on the fence about the unit overall. Not sure if I can hear any difference between this and the OEM unit. The screen is a lot nicer/bigger though. Don't like how it can't read my iPod info correctly. But I guess that's Android vs Apple right there. I've got til January to return it, so we'll see.

Anyone have suggestions for a better way to read iPod data on this unit or a better launcher?

So hook your front camera into the aux video plug on the headunit. You will lose the switich, but you can switch to the camera feed anytime by pushing aux video on the headunit

reading ipod data part, just load the music from your computer onto a small flash drive and plug it in. Or you can load it right onto the headunits memory and listen there.

I was wondering if that would work for the camera. Is that just the Vin plug? What did you tap into for power?

I also thought about that with the flash drive, still wondering if it will read correctly though. I've got 60 gigs of music, so I doubt it will all fit on the head unit memory.

Never tried it, but I think others have plugged in their cameras there.

For the music, I had velcro'ed a usb hard drive under the dash and had it plugged into my headunit. But I had 1tb of music on there so it took forever to index it. I ended up scrapping the idea in favor of just using google play music.

So the thumb drive for music seems to be working. I use Rocket Player on my phone so that's what I'm using on the head unit. Works better than the ipod interface. Getting the wrong album covers but that's minor.

The camera has 12vdc and is in the Vin port but the front display app keeps saying no video. Even when I swap it with the rear it says the same thing. Is there another recommended app?

Where did you plug your nakita camera into and where is the Aux Control app? Mine doesn't have one.

Might as well ask, since we're already on the subject. I want to do a front camera mod with my TacoGarage pro grille and the Joying. I have a 3D printer, so I can make a mount as long as someone has designed one.

I tried every way I could with that port. Triggered, not triggered, Aux App, Front Video App, even tried swapping it with the rear camera. Always showed "no video input." Throwing in the towel on this one yet again. I messed with this thing for over a week. It never did act consistently, even with a firmware update. When I got this random screen switching from settings to google account, that's when I finally had enough, ha. Too bad too. The screen on this thing is awesome. It's just too buggy for me.

GPS signal on my phone is shit lately, but I wonder if that's from the solar flares.

Ordered a Nakita camera, here goes nothing.

If this wasn't my third one I would have, ha. I really wanted it to work right. Just not in the cards for my truck, ha.

So, is there a setting to not have audio cut out when using the aux input? I'm going to guess no, but I have to ask.
