Lol! I saw it there as well! I left it atop its rock assuming it made a fair warning to future travelers…

EDIT: Here's a picture of it in fact...

Oops! Should have posted something sooner! And dang, that looks like the first step, I figured I would have lost it on the bigger one further down.

Too bad I didn't run into any of you wonderful people out there these past couple of weeks! I'm back to the grind for the foreseeable future.

So many photos though, here are some more. A bit further from the 395 but I hope you won't mind...

I once lost a tail light somewhere in between Mojave and Red Rock a few years, stopped at the Napa in Lone Pine for a quick fix the next morning..

Somewhere in DV, there’s a grill for an 09 Tacoma.

I figure you go often enough, you’ll leave something behind.

Anybody know how the dirt roads look right now? Mainly the Bridgeport or mammoth lakes area? Thinking about going up this weekend. I have no winch just recovery boards so wanna play it safe.

There's no snow until 9000'. You'll be fine.

I know this road is closed at this point for no good reason...
It may only be 0.5 mile but it makes a difference to those who aren't accustomed to altitude. Plus there's more parking at the actual trailhead.

INYO NF is pretty good at not doing shit like that. I'm betting they just got tired of maintaining it and decided to end it at that cool looking obstacle. lol

Been closed there for at least a year. Was closed when I was there in January. Still worth the (extra) trek up, IMO :).

It's just the last 1/2 mile of road that's closed to vehicles. You can (and should) still hike it.

I’ll have to find it on a map unless your open to share the location? Look is like I’m going to be up that way this weekend. Going to go up towards green creek..

This was my third or forth time going up to the Ashram. It was great as always.
I thought someone had an accident on the road in the past couple years so they closed that section...but nothing is wrong with the road...nothing at all.

Location is in the linked story, along with pics. So you have to read, but that's about it. Still, keeps the riff-raff out, hahaha. ;)

@turbodb trip reports are legit. The time he takes to document them is pretty impressive.
