Added Duratracs last week

Duratrac's with whites out on a OR- Now that's what I'm talkin about. Good Look Richard.

I will make a couple of comments on these tires:

• Snow and mud these things are in a league of their own when compared to the rugged trails

• They handle like crap at anything above 60 mph, I now know what people mean by saying they are like driving a boat. The sidewalls feel like they are made of jello at highway speeds. I guess its a good thing I don't do alot of highway driving.

 

Yeah I havent taken them off road yet so I dont know what to say about that but I'm not too impressed by their on-road performance

 

Wow I was gonna get some Duratracks, but if they handle like that at highway speeds, I am gonna reconsider. May go with some Bridgestone Revo2 or something.

But Good looking rig. I love that brown color and the rims are sweet.

 

When these are done there won't be a repeat.

 

I have over 20,000 miles on them and most of them are the highway. Have never felt the floating feeling that you guys are talking about. Maybe check your air pressure?

 

What pressure are you running?

 

mine are E load which is an overkill, but thats all they had.

Front between 40-45

i havent noticed any differance in mine on or off the road,but im used to driving vehicles that drive crooked anyway.

 

That's why you don't get the floating feeling bc you are running the E loads. It seems most on here are running the C load.

 

I've been running 32# rear and 34# front on 265-16 Cs and haven't had any issues. They aren't sport tires, but I think they handle fine.

are you having issues with tracking on uneven pavement, or do they do it all the time?

 

I have almost 20K on mine and I too don't feel "the float". I run 34 front and 38 rear. What size are you running? I'm running 285/70-17 load range D. I will be replacing my Duratracs with another set if these continue to please me like they have.

 

No tracking and balancing is fine, I think its the fact that its "C" load????

 

stock our trucks came with passenger tires. C load is more heavy duty than P...

 

gusher, why do you run a higher psi in the rear?

 

I did the "chalk test" (do a search for it -- lots of info) and that's what it came out as being the best for tread contact.
