Greetings everyone, I'm a FNG to the forum and I have a question regarding wiring this switch. I've pored through a myriad of posts on the web, and of course, TW, about wiring, but not one of them addresses the type of switch Cali Raised sent me. I've already installed a 4-wire OEM switch from CR to go with a CR light bar and have no issues; however, when I've attempted to wire a Rough Country 20" dual row, black series w/amber DRL light bar, to the CR 5- wire switch the following occurs:

    1.Top button (amber) works.
    2. Switch off amber, turn on bottom switch for white light- no light comes on.
    3. Turn on amber then turn on white light, white light works- both amber and white lights are on.
    4. Turn both off, top part (amber) of switch stays illuminated even if truck is off.

RC light bar has three wires:
    1. Red- amber
    2. Blue- white
    3. White- power

CR OEM switch has five wires:
    1. Green- power
    2. Black- ground
    3. Yellow- illumination
    4. Blue- white
    5. Red- amber

This information was provided to me by both CR and RC. I've mated the power and light bar wires accordingly, connected the ground to metal source, but left the yellow (illumination) disconnected.

Is the yellow the wire that I need to connect to a power source to resolve my problem? Sorry for beating a seemingly dead horse. I'm not an electrician, so don't crucify me. Thank you!

Are you certain this is the color sequence on wires of the CR switch?
    This is from their site:

I didn't number them in the sequence the wires are configured on the harness. My aim is to outline the colors with their respective function.

They didn't include anything with the package, which, needless to say, but I'll say it anyway, is just lazy.

The color-to-function reference was provided by CR via chat as shown below.

Check with a multimeter. I fought a switch forever based on the schematic it came with. I eventually pulled another switch I had and found at the factory they had put the wires in the wrong order

First and foremost, a big shout-out to caribe-makaira for his advice and guidance, which led me to resolve my wiring dilemma. I also wish to thank mhornco! My lights are online!!

The wiring sequence provided by CaliRaised was erroneous. The diagram provided by caribe-makaira is on point, so if anyone out there is experiencing the same issue, be advised with this post.

A little about myself, I'm a SoCal guy living in NW Arkansas. I've been a Tacoma guy since 2005, but just recently acquired my 2021 Tacoma. I bought my '05 TRD Prerunner new, and in the 15 years I had it, I replaced the front driver side wheel bearing and my A/C condenser went out on its 14th year. That was it- talk about Toyota reliability. Tacoma For Life.
