I'm going a little more overboard with the decorating this year...

This wreath is fake, which means I'm not gonna have to untangle the lights from it at the end of the season! When the light sets give out due to old age, I'll just cut them off and put on new ones!

Looks great! I usually start going through my Christmas decorations in October to see what I want to upgrade or replace. It's definitely my favorite holiday. I was thinking about putting a wreath and some lights on my truck this year too for the fun of it. :santa2:

The lights on the lower part of the truck survived the "55+ MPH on Route 309" test without flying off the truck! I took these pictures at Wawa in Quakertown...

SHORT STORY: Some guy approached me in a parking lot and offered me five grand for my truck! o_O

It took a lot of effort not to laugh at him...

LONG STORY: So, I decorated my truck for Christmas a bit early this year, and I took my truck for a drive on Route 309 to see if the Christmas lights would stay on; I stopped at Wawa, ended up chatting with an old man in a 1991 Geo Prism, and then two guys showed up in an Infiniti G35...

The passenger in the Infiniti asked which one of us owned the truck (meaning myself and the Geo owner); I told him that it was my truck and he asked if it was for sale...

It's been YEARS since a random stranger has approached me offering to buy my truck.

I told him it wasn't for sale but he kept asking me what the lowest I'd take was; I relented and told him fair market value was currently around $12,000. He nearly shat himself, and said he'd give me $5,000 at most; I went on to tell him that I have at almost a thousand bucks in the stereo alone, and that the demand for used vehicles has pushed the value of my truck up about $3,500 since January 2021; He said he was pretty much broke, and I felt bad for him, but even if I were selling my truck I would not take less than $12K for it right now!

That's hilarious. Some people just don't know when to quit.

Last week some guy at a bar offered me $25k for my truck. Didn't think he was serious, but still.

I mean if someone asked me how much I’d sell mine for I’d say $50k. I know it’s not worth near that but it’s my price for me to sell and I don’t need to sell, I make my own market mark up. Take it or leave it

I was at the dealership couple months ago for some parts and the salesman offered me $25k for mine. I bought it for $17k 3 years ago.

I know exactly what I've got, and the funny thing is that my dad paid just under $15K for this truck when it was brand new; With 140K on the clock and an accident on its record thanks to a drunk driver hitting it, my truck is now worth only three grand less than my dad paid for it new!

And my truck is getting a new frame in the next couple months; My plan is to hold onto it for another decade or so and save up for a house!

This is why I put the lights on early and conduct these tests; A brand new light strand came off and wrapped itself around the right control arms!

I was able to remove the string of lights myself, sparing myself an embarrassing call to both AAA and my mechanic; This brand new set of lights suffered one casualty but was still operational, so I taped up the end with electric tape and put it back into use!
