Drove my taco home from a TDY yesterday… Happy to be able to spend Veterans Day with my wife who also served. Happy Veterans Day to my past and present brothers and sisters in arms!

I have an email out to them to ask what the amp draw is on their heater pads. If it's 5a or less, I'm going to use a mini timer with a built in solid state relay for under $20, and a micro switch since I'm out of switch blanks. If it's more than that, I guess I gotta run wiring to the aux fuse box under the hood for an automotive relay. If you're curious as well, I can post it here once they get back to me.

    Yes thank you!
I believe it is a 5amp. That looks like the same one someone posted in a wire up for heated mirrors. But that wasn't for the spotter mirrors.

Put her up for sale. Hate to see it go but, hate to see it sit in the driveway even more.

Yea, I'm thinking it's close. Basic OEM mirror heater pads are somewhere in the 7-8w range, at 12v that equates to about 1.1-1.3a on average for both pads running at the same time. I assume the spotters are probably close to that as well, I'll just have to do a quick draw test when they get here, direct from a 12v source and do the math. But I still say there likely won't be a need for anything bigger than that timer.

ETA: I got this back from them, so... I'm on my own. :D

Kind of odd they don't have specs on that. But I would think 10 amp is way over kill. Will you let me know what you find when you get yours and do a draw test?

Yea, I'll either post the results here or in the DIY thread, just for posterity, and to keep me honest.
