    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Man, I called their shop (Deaver) a few times and sent them at least 4 emails. Never got an answer from them. I would have driven down and picked them up. Oh well. I already have the 63s and the kit, I just have to get to it.

The shipping was what was really going to kill the deal on the Alcans for me (from CO to CA). Also... I was told a custom set of springs was going to be an 8 to 10 week leadtime.

Yea Deaver said 12 week lead time as well.
Sounds about right for a custom pack like that

100% totally agree the lead time doesn't sound out of the ordinary. Just figured if anyone else was reading this they might want to know what kind of time frame we're looking at, going in.

Definitely makes the 63's more attractive with all that.

Although still a lot of work and it's quite a bit longer than OEM leafs so more to get hung up on I would think

    $900 for custom doesn't sound bad when the off-the-rack J59 are $870.

There's a set of Alcans listed on Denver craigslist, but they're way too burly for me... 3.5" lift with 900lbs load. Decent deal for anyone with an overbuilt truck though. They've been listed for a while and the seller might be willing to haggle at this point. https://denver.craigslist.org/pts/d/littleton-1st-gen-tacoma-alcan-leaf/7376709783.html

Totally agree. I'm not really worried about the work. The truck is going to undergo some pretty significant remodeling, this winter, anyway.

I was hesitant about the added length and having the shackles that far back... but I was promptly informed by those who know much more than I do it isn't a problem.

Damn... those are pretty much exactly the Alcans I'd need lol.

Anyone wanna do a TW Express from CO to CA?

I'm sure you could find someone to pick them up and hold them for you at least... Maybe even ship them. Pop on over to the Colorado B.S. or Trading Post threads if you're serious about it.

Yeah, Wheelers had them listed for under $600 until about a month ago.

My son is stationed at Ft Carson. But next time he comes home, he's flying, because he left his Subaru here because his clutch went out. (Flying home and driving back)

He could pick them up, but then I'd be right back to trying to ship them. Which is exactly what killed the deal when I was talking to Alcan about getting leafs.

LMAO! I was just thinking he gets free checked baggage due to Military.

But I think they draw the line somewhere short of 300 pounds of leaf springs

His Platoon Sergeant is driving to CA. There's a (slim) chance something might happen here.
