I don't know how to explain it without firing up MS Paint or reupping my Adobe CC subscription. But you'd obviously have to fab a custom skid, but that's not terrible.

plus you really dont gain a lot of clearance just a little bit and im not gonna be wheeling that hard anymore so it wont be worth my time or money..............

now if the kit onlycost lets say 150-200 then sure but i highly doubt it would cost that little

Materials would be under $100. I'd say closer to $80 with the plate for the skid, but prices are high right now. It's not that much material.

This is why I get peeved about skid and bumper costs for Tacos.

How though? That seems insane considering it's literally a piece of 1.5 x 3 and like 1 sq ft of plate?

Much appreciated. I'm more disappointed about the six gallons of cider that dumped onto the basement floor...

Warfab sells a kit meant to be a platform to build a bumper off off. It's the crossbar, reinforced horns and new hardware. It adds bolt points too going from 6 bolts to 8.

@Calamity_taco you can literally order some square tube from Metal By The Foot here in KC and diy for way less. I was just using Warfab's kit as a point of reference.

well today the final part was put onto my truck and that was the marlin crawler frame brace and lets just say it was something....

the front brackets line up great for me and basically fit right in where they needed to so that was easy and not to hard. the rear brackets didnt line up too great..... and once pushed into place they wouldnt stay on the truck so you can tack it soo you would have to hold them to tack them no big deal right? well after that we noticed that the tabs that go over the cam tabs for the rear on my kit where slightly to large for the rear so there was gaps that needed to be filled with weld on one side and when we did the other side and lined it up the gap was even worse to the point we couldnt just fill it in with weld without a little bit of metal to stick in there.... so ill have to do that at a later date.

buuuuuut the big thing that does suck is my hunch was correct something on my truck was indeed bent and it turned out too be my lca bracket in the rear on the passenger side we got it straight as best we could but its not gonna be fixed unless i decide to
    A. cut it out and go with the jd fab kit.
    B. sell it and cut my losses
    C. get it aligned the best i can and call it good and forget about it...
atm im going with option C. lol

but even with those issues the truck is sorta aligned and drives straight down the road (which is still so odd for me) ill be dropping it off to get an alignment again this week to see if i cant get more caster on it and not in the red camber this time.

so here we go! final issues dealt with sorta.... ive replaced everything now besides one inner tie rod, steering rack(which is starting to have issues) and my lower ball joints. everything else on that front end is new or at least a year old so here is to hopping that i have no more issues....

and once this is all done and im no longer spending every weekend i have on it ill be moving my attention to my 98 to get it up and going as a daily and weekend toy...... (even thou it still has the shitty d16y5 bleh) so im not done yet and have many more weekends of turning wrenches and cursing ahead of me ugh!

also jack stands dont move when you hit them with your head lol got a nice lump now after that one...
