Why not? ND is always overrated for some reason.

But I definitely agree about the playoff. It's a gimmick until they expand it more. Basketball has a real playoff, hockey has a real playoff, and even DII football has a real playoff. Absolutely no reason for there not to be one in DI.

 

Other than those teams that clearly deserve their spot based on their records and resume we have:

 

Tennessee fans around me keep talking shit about how great their offense is. Ranked 15 in the nation in scoring offense. UGA is ranked 14th.
Scoring defense: UT - 80th. UGA - 1st.
Passing YPG allowed: UT - 109th. UGA - 2nd
Rushing YPG allowed: UT - 68th. UGA - 2nd.
Sacks allowed: UT - 125th. UGA - 2nd


Hoping it’s as lopsided as the stats would suggest. I think it’s 42-21…maybe 42-17…at the end of the night.

I think that's a good score prediction. Vols will score more than 14 and play a good first half but undoubtedly fall short - no depth whatsoever and they'll be gassed by end of 3rd quarter

 

That’s my thoughts, too. Our rotating D line will be fresh against an O line that gives up a lot of sacks. No depth on defense for UT. I don’t think they’re gonna score 45 in 13 mins of ball possession this week. Our D line doesn’t give their WR time to get open, I don’t think.

 

I have to say Tennessee turned around far quicker than anyone expected. It has been a total dumpster fire of a program since Phat Phil, but they almost look like a coherent team this year. Guess the portal can resurrect dead programs.

May not happen this year... But they may still have to play Bama in the SEC Championship game. Haven't beat Bama since 2007 but Bama's vulnerable this year. Georgia seems the better team but Bama could play a great game and upset the Dawgs. Bama can't lose the SEC and make the playoffs so there's motivation in a do or die game and Georgia could lose a close SEC and still make the playoffs.
