    Well we had a little buck that we got stopped a little over 100 yards out. It kicked like it was hit but we haven't found any blood or body in over an hour. Gonna try it again this afternoon

    My daughter just turned 6 last month and after seeing brother shoot the nine with the muzzle loader the other day she said she wanted to shoot one. I ask her what she wanted to shoot, she said a buck. Got his youth .243 out this afternoon since rifle season came in today and she wanted to carry it.

    We were in the blind 15 minutes and she saw one in the edge of the woods, I got Cole to video and take pictures. It was a buck, she said she wanted to shoot it. All I did was put forward pressure on the gun so it wouldn’t kick bad. I don’t know who was shaking more, her or me.

    Took her almost a minute to pinch, she got him about 65 yards.

    She has her lifetime license but I’ve never gotten her tags, didn’t this year cause I didn’t think she’d want to hunt. I know the game wardens are always at the processor on opening day so I tried to get her tags this evening. Couldn’t figure out how. I assume it’s cause season already started, not sure. I said well, I’ll ask the warden when we get there.

    We got there and there were 3 wardens this time, she told them she got it. I told them my predicament with no tag on it and he tried to help me get them. No go. I said I know you aren’t supposed to but I have one buck tag left and will use it cause I’m not shooting anymore this year.

    He gave me a look, said “the deer needs to be tagged” as he was walking off. Understood, sir.

    After tagging it the processor put some blood on her face, the three wardens were standing behind her. I pulled my phone out to take her picture and all three of them ran out of the photo.
