    @0xDEADBEEF

    So this manual is a year or two before the tacoma, but as you can imagine the logic doesn't change a whole ton until the technology expanded around 08 or so.

    Looks like a typical spark plug R&R on a subi :p

    Typical headgasket issue. Sparks plugs actually aren't that bad to change, once you do it the first time and learn the tricks.

    Happens to the best of them, literally. Hopefully you didn't scorch the head or the block. I try my hardest to never have to work on a Subi anymore, had two roommates with em for a while and they were not fun to maintain. When did you get a WRX anyway?

    The dude that invents the quick swap kit for subarus will be a millionaire instantly. I'm talking hand operated quick disconnects for everything, that way you can just drop in your spare engine and rebuild the other, and when your done... bam swap again!

    It's a shame the GT86 is a boxer and not a Toyota straight 4 turbo.

    Mfer I did the emission monitor readiness procedure as outlined by the FSM and the fucker still won't set. Only thing I'm reading that could cause this is a bad battery but it's brand new. Guess I should exchange it just in case. Gonna try the process one more time in the AM after it sits overnight again

    Yeah, the price point is so cheap I've still considered one, but that FA engine is a torqueless turd and boosting it ends up in the usual sadness of ringlands, headgaskets, and rod bearings.

    Got it at the beginning of August. Was running great, 109k miles, already built but on the stock motor and from 2012. So the build is dated. Sat from 2016 until I bought it and I think that is part of the issue. It was blowing coolant out the overflow but no other problems other than dry rotted hoses and such. Replaced all those and did some other things for reliability and put about 4k miles on it. Super fun to drive, lots of power. Dynoed at 340whp and 331 torque. 20G turbo with supporting mods.

    BUT, the coolant blowing out the overflow was obviously an issue and then it started getting detonation under load/boost. That started getting rapidly worse so I decided to pull the motor and see if I can get away with a head gasket replacement to tide it over until I can do a proper build with a closed deck block. So that's where it's at right now.

    I'm honestly not sure, just going off the Scangauge where it says "Not Ready" under the scan procedure. According to SG once all monitors are set it will switch over to ready. Not sure how to view them independently on it, might have to plug in my obdII dongle and use Torque instead

    A normal OBDII can show all the monitors separately, then you can just run the cycle for that one by procedure

    Yeah I remember with Torque Pro I could view each monitor easily. I'll hook it back up and find out

    Nothing wrong on mine in particular, just see other posts with lots of guessing. Trying to understand more about how the ecu utilitizes the sensors it’s got.

    I'll take a guess and say it isn't wanting to set the catalyst monitor, the other ones throw codes more often if it has a hard time setting it

    Feel free to ask if you're confused, I've spent way too much time studying that stuff so we can tune more accurately. MAF response curves are possibly some of the most annoying things to understand and analyze
