I had the diff rebuilt 10 months ago. The shop has a 1 year warranty on parts and labor. So maybe, just maybe something unscrewed it self and caused the damage and will be covered.

I Had music up pretty loud with the windows down. I heard a very loud buzzing sound and stopped the truck. No bang or anything like that.
At first I couldn’t figure out where the sound was coming from.
At some point I noticed the hole and dripping diff fluid.
While trying to figure out what was happening I reversed and the noise went away. The last I moved the truck no sounds. It rolled onto the tow truck smoothly.

Your welcome. Probably not up to actually using the rtt but should be fine to transport it.

I've seen grenaded diffs not make much noise. It's rare but it does happen. Let us know what you find out when the shop tears into it.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Were hosting a large 4x4 MEET at the shop on Saturday. Stop by and say hello.

Random - but anyone in the bay area know any Golden Retriever breeders, or know of anyone who might have a litter of puppies?

Have you tried the NORCAL Golden Retriever Rescue? There are a bunch of places that "have puppies" but nothing beats someone with local knowledge.

I can suggest Dustin Retrievers in Sutter, Moonlight Labradors in Santa Rosa, and Japutal Labs if you're looking for a Labrador Retriever.
