1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

I do have Magnaflow cats from about 4 years ago when I was getting that 420 code. And it started just like that - only when wheeling in low range or going up long highway grades. Eventually stuck around for good. Haven't seen that code though since the Magnaflows. I sure hope that's not the case again given how expensive those are now. But I have known in the back of my head that they aren't OEM and it likely would happen again eventually. Hopefully it's just being finicky.

I'll verify the monitor first and go from there. Keep trying the FSM process and hope it works

FWIW my truck was throwing that code and I replaced the forward most O2 sensor (technically it's the air fuel ratio sensor)and the code went away. The trouble shooting procedure for that code can kiss my ass, it's everything from a low charge on the battery up to a bad cylinder and 5,000other issues in between or something crazy like that.

I used a denso sensor as my truck told a Bosch sensor to fuck right off. My truck seems to hate all non OEM parts.

 

Yeah Toyotas in general are known to not respond well to aftermarket sensors. OEM/Denso the way to go

 

My dumb ass found a cell phone off the side of the road in the middle of nowhere today.

Turned on with no problems so it couldn’t have been there too long. But long enough for the camera lenses to get water behind them.

Owner must’ve replaced it already cause the SIM card is shut off. I sent a text to the last voicemail that was on the phone that I could see, and posted on Facebook.

It’ll go to ATT or the police tomorrow if I can’t find the owner I guess.

On another note, 5th Gen 4Rs are fucking worse than 3rd Gen Tacomas.

Every single one has black wheels, more than half have a Gobi ladder in the rear, and almost half of them are driven by women on their phone.

Oh shit that's @Kens04Taco haha. We've done a couple runs together, he's got an awesome 1st gen. He's a wiring/electrical guru, got a good thread on here. He used to run my old softtopper so I didn't recognize at first till you said the plate name
