Somebody please help me. What coils for the Bilstein 5100 kit at the tallest setting!? We tried to use the stock coils but the preload on them was INTENSE. I cant find a good answer anywhere.

Just get the Toytec coil overs. They use 5100s and eibach coils set at 0. You’ll get 2.5-3” of lift. They come preassembled.

Just remember the 5100s are meant to be run on the 0 setting with aftermarket coils. Good luck and keep us posted.

No they’re meant to be used with stock coils, and that comes straight from Bilstein. They don’t recommend using OME coils.

They’re plenty of us that run aftermarket coils on 5100s and plenty of trucks shops that sell them that way Toytec being one of them. But yes Bilstein says they’re designed for the OE coils.

I know, it’s about money, I’m just stating what Bilstein says.

Believe me. I had the 5100s on the top setting with my stock coils and those things were so preloaded I was starting to get worried. When we took them apart the threads were almost gone. There's no way you can use the stock coils at the top setting on the 5100s.

I have two witnesses. It was either going to be the toughest ride you could imagine or they were going to pop

How much lift did you get with the 5100’s on setting 0 and the 884’s?

im a DC 2wd short bed. Do you think I’m better off going with the 885’s w/5100’s on the stock setting. Ideally I’d like 1.75 inches but don’t want anything over 2 inches. Tire size will be 265/70r17 wheel 8.5 width zero offset

I would go with 885 springs and 1” block in rear , if you want to keep the factory rake , then an add a leaf , 1.5 inches in rear . The picture above has nothing in rear . From ground to fender 37” all around . From hub to fender 22” all around . Tires are 265/70/17 17x8.8 , 0 offset .

lots and lots, never ending mods
885s should do the trick nice, I fd up when I ordered for my truck 21 DCLBOR, I ordered 5100s with 885s and for my truck I should have gone with 888s, now that I have ordered an SSO front bumper I'm thinking I'm gonna leave the 885s on till I do the bumper and put 886s on at the same time

Leer Shell, 2018 4 Runner Trail wheels, Bilstein 5100s, OME 885s, Icon RXT medium duty leaf pack, Garvin roof basket, awning and soon a HomerTaco Satoshi Grill!
I'm about 7,000 miles from home trying to figure this all out and I just ordered:
    Icon 1.5 add a leaf
    Bilstein 5100s front/rear
    OME 885s
    1/4" lean spacer

I'm hoping to keep my factory UCAs, stay relatively level and fit a bigger tire. Hopefully it works out!

I'm in search of longer coils for a 4-5" lift, my truck has the drop bracket for the front and a 4" measured spacer on top of the factory coilover. I'm replacing the rear factory spring with the 4" lift block, to a set of Robinsons med leaf packs and a 2" block so I've got that one figured out. Bilsteinlifts web site has a set of 5100 extended travel front and rear. The set requires a longer coil and I'm not sure what to get or where to look.

5100’s are designed to use the factory coils. Your best bet would be to use the 5100’s on the bottom clip and retain the supplied lift spacer that goes on top of the strut or buy longer shocks and springs that are designed to work with a 4” drop bracket lift. I believe AccuTune Offroad has a Fox option specifically for that application.
