Sitting in a restaurant and had to pee. Went in to the mens room standing at the urinal with an anchor on my belt. My pants eventually slip from my grip and my M&P 9c falls to the floor in front of a father and his 3-4 year old son.

No words, just out the door he goes. I redress myself and put my piece back in my pants. (Then pick up my gun)

I go out to see the guy with the manager talking. I got some funny looks but no one ever said anything to me. I'm guessing he knew the law but the father was obviously not pleased.

Sounds like he needs to learn to use a zipper and keep the belt fastened.

I have a crossbreed supertuck. I just mad the mistake of not using the zipper. I was alone when I walked in and just didn't think about it.

Even so..... You should put more tension on the holster. I've read - that a good holster should hold the gun securely even if the holster (and gun) are upside down and you shake it slightly. It should never fall out.

    Embarrassing moment for sure.

How do you think us ladies feel? You never sit on a public toilet seat, trying to hoover, hold your pants/belt/holster/gun up so nobody will see it underneath the doors in the stalls and do your business at the same time. :D

Yeah. I think I had bumped it out trying to catch it as the pants slid.

I've done the stall thing in the past. Never really thought about ladies with an iwb. That's an uncommon method for the female persuasion.

IWB holsters, like the supertuck, are made to hold with pressure from the body. My kramer# 3 IWB will hold my sig 1911, by itself, upside-down, but one bump and it's out. IWB, however, I can run with it in.
If it's too tight, it will be hard to draw and might come out with the gun. Too loose, it easily falls out.

    #1 zipper.
#2 pantleg becomes holster, and you won't leave it behind.

Use clorox wipes for seat and you won't need to hover.

You're correct. When it's on behind the waistband it's tight enough to go for a jog or do handstands. But release the belt and hang it loose and a simple bump on the muzzle and out it comes if it's upside down or in midfall.

I won't make the same mistake again. I guess it's live and learn. No harm no foul.

Here are some interesting 'tests' to take that *rates your risk*. Questions are interesting regardless of score.

My grandmother, with her younger children at the time were home one night and heard a man climbing on the roof and trying to get into the house, they had a farm in mexico at the time.(maybe things in mexico wouldn't be so bad right now if regular citizens had the right to bear arms so they could defend themselves from the criminals that have the weapons) Well anyway grandma broke out her .38 special and shot at the bastard, she missed but he ran the hell out of there. On another occasion some stupid little gang banger was messing with one of her grandsons who was walking back from the store, they were beating him with a bat for some words exchanged days before. After the police was called Grandma came out with her .38 and said to get the hell away from him. They left and didn't bother him again. The police did catch up with the guys. Grandma was known to carry on occasion, she said nobody is going to hurt my family if I can help it, I will go to jail or die if I must.

Man I wish she was still around!!!

I believe any woman that has to be out late for whatever reason or has to drive any long stretches of roads should seriously consider carrying a gun legally. On a drive through Utah I had a vehicle on my ass for a good 30 minutes, there was absolutely no other traffic. It was about 11pm and I was on my way to Colorado. He kept slowing down and speeding up inches away from my bumper. I wished I had a gun at the time. He finally gave up but i'm lucky, on that stretch of the I-70 there is hardly anyone for many miles and who knows what lengths he would of gone to or what his purpose was.

It's weird, but if you would've asked me about 5 years ago if I'd ever carry - I'd probably would've laughed and thought you were nuts. For some reason, I've become really interested in it and my husband keeps buying me books to read. Jesus, I haven't picked up a book in 20 years and now I'm on my 3rd.

I'm not in a high crime area, but traveling to/from work especially on 2nd shift (after 12:30am) and going to the gym, grocery store, gas station, etc. I've always been good in having situational awareness - but now....even more so.

If a woman doesn't want to carry a gun - AT A MINIMUM - she should take self defense classes and read some books on it too. It'll open your eyes and make you understand how to have 'situational awareness' and atleast have a chance at protecting yourself!

That is excellent advice for anyone, male or female. The best weapon in any circumstance is the alert and trained mind.

I carry concealed and a few years back my wife and kids were outa town and i was hangin out with my neibors. There sister and her b/f were there. He ended up getting really drunk and passing out well a few hours later he woke up and thought he saw us having sex in the kitchen and started freaking out. She took her young child and we out him in my sons crib and she was on her way back out the door when the guy started beating on my door telling me he was gonna kill me and what not. Next thing i know the door opened so i drew and put my 1911 to his forehead. He wassnt armed thank god so I didnt fire but he kept screaming at me to kill him. Never thought I would have that reaction. She grabbed him an got him back into the other apt and i went outside to smoke. About 5 mins later the guy came runnin up the stairs and ended up getting his ass kicked lol. The next day he came and appologized to me over and over again. I have shot my rifle in combat many times but i'm glad I didnt have to kill that guy.

I absolutely agree. My sisters aren't the type to carry and I have shown them a few moves for self defense and I have encouraged them to go to self defense classes.

Very true. Being aware of my surroundings has saved me. I was a truck driver for a year and I was somewhere near ohio or Pennsylvania and I noticed a man that seemed to be following me. I let him know that I knew he was there. I also let my full size Maglite be visible. This was also late at night so a lot of people were sleeping in their rigs. He followed me all the way to the off ramp, where I was parked because the rest stop was full and I had to use the bathroom. When I got into the truck he stopped and watched as I drove away. There was no other vehicle or person on that ramp. I'm sure he realized I would not be an easy target or maybe he was just messing with me, who knows but I wasn't gonna stick around to find out.

Always be aware of your surroundings, stay alert. For me that text, phone call or whatever could wait till I was in a less vulnerable position. Adjust to the situation, my brother felt he was being followed and called me to tell me his location to make it known someone knew where he was and acted as though he was waiting for someone to show up any second till he got to a more lit up area with other people.

This is great advise for when you're open carrying too. Keep your head on a swivel. Granted that someone who is hell bent on killing, MAY go after you first. But if you have a gun that is clearly visible on your person and appear to be alert and aware, then it might even give a crazy psychopath pause.

Open carry has it's advantages as well as it's drawbacks and when I'm going about my business sometimes I wish I was open carrying, and other times I'm glad my piece is concealed.

took my CWP class yesterday. Should have my permit in about 90 days :woot:

Janster... you were asking about carrying with one in the chamber... instructor said PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE with it unloaded until you are comfortable with your weapon. Otherwise, you might as well not carry. He said you'd be dead before you could get a round in the chamber...
