Here is another unique mod I started a couple days ago. Hopefully, someone else can benefit from this idea. Since I shaved the holes for the windshield washers off my hood, I was looking for a new way to mount them. I noticed my Camaro has them mounted to the cowl cover, so I decided to try that. My old washers were in bad shape and I lost one, so I ordered some washers intended for the 2005+ Tacomas. I read on here that those have a better spray pattern and that was attractive vs just buying the older style ones with the dual streams.

I had to design and 3D print some adapters in order to mount them to the cowl (the adapters fit pressed into the cowl and are then held in with ABS cement). If anyone wants to try this mod, I can 3D print these for you.

I connected the two sprayers to each other using 5/32" washer tubing from Prestone (sold in a 6 foot length at Autozone) and placed a T-fitting in the middle of the tubing. This, in turn, connects to the tubing coming off the pump on the washer reservoir. The reason for the T in the center is to ensure even flow to both sides. I added a zip tie to each connection in order to avoid loosening over time (the T didn't feel all that tight on the tubing).

I used a single strand copper cable to fish the tubing from the pump through the fender well and out the cowl area so that I could connect it to the T-fitting. There is a readily available opening next to the reservoir through which you can put the tubing into the fender well.

From there, you can run the wire up the fender well into an opening that leads into the cowl area. I tested the wipers to ensure the tubing wouldn't become impinged on the wiper arms and it all looks good.

A test showed that they were spraying properly, such that the windshield ended up evenly wet with the movement of the wipers.

Those little mods make such a difference wow attention to detail!!!!

 

Installed some Integra seats in the Taco.

No welding. Used Recaro sliders and planted brackets. Did not have to weld anything. Recaro rails bolted right up to the DC2 Integra Type R seat and bolted right up to the planted bracket for the driver side.

Passenger side is the passenger seat from a 98 Integra. Slider closest to the passenger door comes right off with removing 2 nuts and 1 bolt. The slider closest to the transmission tunnel needed to be cut to utilize the side bracket. Bolted the Recaro sliders into the seat by drilling an additional hole on the Integra brackets. The rails fit perfectly into the planted bracket without any modification or extra drilling.

Love it! Currently working on doing the same. I used to do road racing in my previous car as well.

This is looking cool! Are you going with full black or just the accents?

 

I will attempt to black out anything and everything I can. How ever I am against using spray paint. So it takes time and creativity to apply materials.

 

I've been impressed with what you've done so far. I'm curious to see your approach for some of the other pieces.

I did an interior color change with my car in college that involved spray painting plastic parts and I will NEVER do that again. I'm sure if you use good paint and prep things well it can be alright, but the scratches and flaking paint were really really bad.

 

‘yup I know what you mean but you can get really good results with a good prep and paint.. The old European shop I used to work at had a guy that came in and did interiors and he would mix his color and use a airbrush with amazing results

 

So youre the reason i cant find any is300 wheels!

 

Lol, in all fairness, only some are is300, others are Supra wheels- but yes, I am sort of hoarding them. I promise they will be released back into the wild in new leather and carbon

 

Do you have any more pics of your back seats? Or lack there of? I’ve been thinking about taking mine out for more room.
