Just wanted to know who trains, and where you train at. I'm in Houston and I train at Gracie Barra under "Draculino." I'm a 3 stripe blue belt, and maybe we can talk a little jiu-jitsu.

I train in Davis CA under Renato Verissimo (Nova Uniao). I've been training since 1996. First under the Gracie's and then after a few years switched under Charuto.

I know some guys who do muai-tai and with their new ground skills, I would never mess with them. Knowing both skills makes them very dangerous.

I heard somewhere that 9 out of 10 fights end up on the ground at some point, so it's good to know both. I recommend giving it a try. It can be very addicting, but very rewarding.

I've seen your avatar before on other threads. I always wanted to discuss jiu-jitsu with you. Are you currently still training? If you been trianing since '96, then you must have a wealth of knowledge. I'm glad to hear from you. BTW, nice truck, I trying to get mine to look like yours.

    Check out my sig...
Been doing it off and on for about 18mos - currently off - w/ Jay (forgot his last name) @ Socal martial arts who trained under Dean Lister. Great crew out there, relaxed and all about form versus getting the "win".

Also did muay thai for about 6 months.

Thanks man, yeah I'm currently still training but just like most have not been consistent. I still feel like I have so much to learn because the game is evolving so much but like you said it is so addicting and rewarding. I did Thai kick boxing for a few years and it was awesome but i love having full control of the situation when in a brawl and that's why I love jujitsu. :D

Cool, I knew I wasnt the only one.

I train under Marcello Cavalcanti out in Carson, CA. who is a black belt under Rigan Machado

I started last year and I know I will be doing this for a while. I had a curiosity of it and I was invited to a free roll with the class and almost instantly was hooked. Not only is it a great sport but in a way it helps me get over stress.

I look forward to chatting with you guys about bjj.
