Good morning NOVA Fam. 3rd Gen Owners, anyone have a rear bumper they are getting rid of? Backed into a tree on Saturday when I was trying to turn around. Cracked my right bumper cap. lol

Saw this Badlands Sasquatch Bronco on the trail, it was SWEET!

i guess now that you twist my arm. lol

I went up the trail on my own, I drove up the union springs side. Went up the trail and met this bronco. I lead the way to the top. I even let my brother drive and I spotted a few spots for him to get over, My brother drives to meadow knob beautifully and then we get to flag pole beautifully. At Flagpole the Bronco and I split ways. He went to the Lake and I went to Reddish Knob. I let my nephew drive from Flagpole to Reddish knob which is dirt trail nothing to crazy. After that, I let him drive from Reddish Knob down to Switzer Lake. We saw a random pull off and was like hey that looks interesting lets follow it. So we follow the road and it looks like it hasn't been used in a while so we take it slow. we come to a dead end. We begin to turn around, we get half way around and we dig ourselves into the mud. Over the leaves we couldn't see the mud and the running water where we were trying to turn around. I used my maxtrax and I couldn't get out. we kept digging deeper and deeper. It got to the point were it looked like we could slide down the mountain. I took out my winch and wrapped it around a tree higher on the mountain. Going back and forth until I get out. On the final push out I pressed down on the gas and reversed out into a tree and cracked my rear bumper cap. I'm finally out and I'm on the way out back to the trail and I hear my car beeping like crazy! Check ABS, Check Brake System, Check Pre- Collision sensors. My brakes went out. Wheels are locking, not rolling. I reverse back and forth, change from 4 low to high, 2h. Back and forth trying to make it work. Thinking it was a fluke. I couldn't tell if anything was leaking because all the water. Then put it in S mode and take it slow down the mountain put it in first gear and take it down the mountain to Switzer Lake looking for anyone that can help. Get to a random camp spot and message @ilubtimmyhos and @3pooches off my garmin inreach. it was basically 4:30 and it was getting dark, They offered to come right that second but it was too dark. So we tried to figure it out in the morning. I was getting worried because I didn't have cellphone service. So I took it into town on 1st gear slowly down the mountain back to civilization. Adam put it out in the VA4x4 group that i was stuck, a guy named Jeff came to Autozone to help me fix it. He took one look at it and noticed the right drum was leaking brake fluid and the brake cylinder was messed up and got me going with in an hour to hour and half. I made it home safe and sound.

The picture below is were i got stuck and i had to turn around.

So the Garmin Inreach (from a quick search) seems like it sends messages and your current location (via satellites) to other Inreach owners who also pay a subscription, have the app downloaded & are connected to a cell tower, to a cell #... Is that roughly right or am I missing something?

Also glad ya made it out!

You can text anyone with it via a normal text message, and it can also receive texts from a normal phone. It has its own phone number associated with it. I use it to keep in contact with my wife when I’m out of service. 10/10 recommend.

You can also send premade messages and share your location and stuff but I mainly use it to text.

Its like a satellite phone that sends text messages only. I pay when i use it. I pay the 15 bucks when ever i go out. and i get 15 text messages. any additional messages i pay 50 cents per additional text. I use it for emergency cases like this. And you get unlimited SOS text messages incase you get hurt or something.

I have one of the off brands called Zoleo. Like Randy, I just text my wife with it. So she knows a bear hasn't eaten me. Every once on a while I'll send her my location. They're handy to have and I highly recommend looking into them. Patrick's adventure is a good demonstration of how they come in handy.

    A thing or two...
Any idea what took out the brake cylinder? Was it leaking around the pistons, at the brake line connection, or from the bleed screw?
