nah...the pine needles are a sign of use!! Just like bruises and cuts are for Mountain/BMX riders...if there is not mud and blood, you didn't do it right!! All trucks need a little dirt on 'em

I am soooo jealous of all of that!!! Did you do any camping? Where is that?

If you have to ask then you might not need anything else. I’d wait until you have a moment you wish you had a piece of equipment and then base it off that. One thing I’ve noticed on tacomaworld is that a lot of people max out their trucks just for the hell of it, simply because the accessories exist. There’s nothing wrong with that, but also nothing wrong with enjoying your truck as it stands.

Some necessities for me were wheels/tires and a camper shell. I achieved that and now I’m on a break until I find a need for something based on the way I use my truck.

That said, my suggestion would be rock sliders or a nice roof rack depending on how you use your truck!

You're totally right, Truck is pretty good right now. Like I was looking at ditch lights but I'm not 100% sure even on those, since my new fog lights actually give me a decent spread.

I have sidesteps right now, so sliders have to wait until I could sell the steps. Rack is possible. looking at getting a canoe to take my little guy fishingat some of the lakes out in the back country more.

I keep finding things that I want to buy, but I sleep on it before buying. In the morning I wake up and realize I will probably never use or need the thing I want to buy.

There are 4 things that I do want, but only 2 of them I actually need.

    Tires - need
wheels - need for new tires
front bumper - want but dont need
skids - want but dont need

The last 2 items I want, but since I dont offroad they are not really needed.

I've been doing that a lot, especially with lighting. I think a rack of some sort will be the next thing, just so I can put my traction boards in an easier to access spot and so I can haul a canoe if/when I get one. Probably sleep on that and not get it though.

Headlight upgrade is the other big thing. be nice to have headlights that aren't drowned out by my fog lights LOL.

You're making me feel better about my matched bumper caps, they're not a perfect match but closer than some of the options you shared.

    I bought a 3rd gen

then got the T.a.c.o.m.a tailgate inserts

I also installed a 20 inch light bar
I guess I didn’t screw the bar in good enough and lost the screw soooo I gotta get

Question- has anybody attach a light bar into the crash bar ? If so how was it done I was thinking I would have to get some selftap screws ?

I made my own rack and I am so on the fence about liking it. Its level with the top of the bed and holds a cargo basket and my fishing rod holders. But my big issue with it is that anything taller than the bedsides require me taking out the rack. Its only 4 bolts, but its still a pain if I am out somewhere and need to remove it. What I do like about it is that solo fishing everything is super organized and ready, when kayaking with my kids I replace the fishing rod rack with J hooks for the kids 6 foot kayaks. But if the wife wants to kayak also then I either have to remove it to stack all the kayaks, or put my wifes kayak on the roof. I will probably end up just putting the wifes on the roof as her kayak is much lighter than mine (40 lbs vs 100 lbs) and it doesnt have all the fishing stuff on the deck like mine does. Mountain bikes seem to be fine as I can put the adult bikes on the rack, then just slide the kids bikes under the rack.

I have thought about cutting the rack in half and building a coupler so I can have either the full width rack or give it feet to make a half width rack so I can put my mini bike in there.

But my main goal of this rack was to have something that I can keep under my soft topper.

Yeah, are you the one who used the khaki from lowes??? Cause honestly thats probably the closest I have come to matching the truck, at 1/5th the cost of colored matched paint that doesnt match.

Yup, using blue painters tape to transfer the location of the holes is definitely a pro tip. I did do that.

Trimming the spine out prior to drilling the holes is also a pro tip. I did not do that on the first side. :anonymous:

Nope, I bought the caps painted from a member/vendor I can't remember at the moment and it's pretty close but not perfect. No complaints really though, in my case it replaced chrome which looked silly to me on quicksand.
