I parked next to another quicksand truck at the store and I swear they were two different colors so they must have different paint codes or painted in different places

i got some DAP flex lock product and went around under the lip of the shell on the inside of the bed and liberally tried to fill that space. That helped immensely after hitting small leaks again every time it rained. Now my only issues are during heavy rain or a car wash in the front corners. If you go over to the caps/tonneaus/covers page and to the “show me your shell” thread there’s some conversation going on about this very topic with some potential solutions.

I think most folks don’t realize there’s a metal spine in there until it’s too late.

 

i did what others have said. I did buy the special punch which made it easier. On top of some scrap wood, I used a 2 pound sledge and gave it a good whack. One or two hits and it produced a clean hole. Measure 5 times though, and punch once. if you get the hole just a curly hair off, it'll be tough to fix.

 

Camped all weekend. This is in the George Washington, Jefferson National Forests in Virginia. Im pretty sure this was the last few days of the leaves. We got some rain but it wasnt too bad.

 

I’m curious. When did you order those from Explore Overland? I ordered mine June 16. Still have not received them. I’ve talked to a dude and said they were having trouble getting steel. Then got an email saying they will be in production by Nov 5. Haven’t heard anything else. They look great BTW

 

Ah, you punched directly through, spine and all? I figured the spine would just bend. Then again, I was using a standard clawhammer and not a 2lb sledge

 

On November 11, 2021 I took my 2019 Tacoma into the dealership for the fuel pump recall and left with a 2022 Camry. Zero dollars spent, they ended up giving me three thousand dollars more then what I bought the truck for. Had 2 Jeep Wranglers then the Tacoma, now its time for better gas mileage and mend my fused joints. Thanks for all your ideas and directions on how to do's, could not have done it with out you!

Added a procharger to my 2017 Off Road, so much better but would like to find a better tune than the one provided!

 

Talk to @mZiggy he has done well with the Magnuson Supercharger software we are working on. I'm sure the file would probably transfer over very well.
