Maybe it will help you make sure you don't hit your window again too, although I'd guess your new "glass" has a little more shock absorption capacity than your old glass.

Picked up a bottle of gas this morning ($334 o_O) and got to set up the welder. Only real scrap I had laying around was an old mower blade. Cleaned it up and went to town.

    20211115_131451.jpg

Top left is obviously when I was first dialing in the settings. The rest came out pretty good for .023 wire. Also got a couple little pieces of sheet metal and did some practice stitching. Not bad for a 120v machine. I'm obviously spoiled at work using the 480v welders, but this one will work.

Luckily I have enough clearance to do the other half, then I’ll reposition it.

My wife and I and our now 2 kids have made a tradition of leaving town and being together the 4 of us for Thanksgiving. It's too much headache to try to coordinate going to 2 Thanksgiving (all of our parents are in town) especially for a holiday that doesn't really mean all that much to us. Instead, we will be having some good food and looking out over lake Hamilton in Arkansas which has become a new favorite spot.

I heard something about having the 4 of us each make 1 thing so I'm expecting macaroni and cheese, Totinos, ramen (none of which my wife can have) and something decent from my wife.

You are going to enjoy that machine,
a 120 volt mig with .023 wire is perfect for bodywork & things like mower decks too.

It will fix about anything around the house or on a vehicle, in a few months you won't know how you ever got along without it.

Moved the rim to the other slots in the table and now it maxed out the other direction. Was just checking for the other 3. Oh well.

I hope I find more uses for it. This was an all in purchase of around $800 o_O

After I do the bodywork on the Eagle I'll have to find something to tinker with the welder.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I use .023 wire for most all my welding for what I do these days.

If I need to get serious I swap guns and drive rolls for bucket rebuilding if it is a small job I stick weld.

Heh, the only guy I talked to in the neighborhood and worked on cars passed away a couple months ago. The only other neighbor I really talk to is in her mid 80's; she ain't gonna need anything welded  I.do have a friend that is gonna need a cab corner and bed wheelwell arch done here soon on her S10. So that might get done this summer.
