Just to be clear, the red goes to the illumination lead off the switch and black can go to the ground coming off the switch? My switches are already installed. Per the Caliraised video, I tied the two red leads (one is striped and is the illumination lead) out of the switch and connected them both to the power in from the harness on my ditch lights. Did the same with my light bar switch. Currently, my switches only light when they are turned on.

You’ll cut your wires free and throw their connector in the trash. My harnesses come with a replacement for it that are hardwired so you can’t mess up the illumination. So the red and black wires for illumination will be handled by my harness. From there you just reconnect the 12V Source wire and the wire going out to your relay to the new pigtails on my provided connector.

If there is a wiring for dummies class please sign me up.

The harness from diodedynamics has white blue and black wires. With your harness left of steering, what do i do with the black wire from the diodedynamics harness?

Prior to getting your setup I have everything hooked up and it works just no illumination unless the switch is on.

There are 3 wires on that harness:
    • Black
    • White
    • Blue
The new switch you probably got from Cali Raised of CH4x4 has 4 wires:
    • Green
    • Red 1
    • Red 2
    • Black

Black on the DD harness is ground for the rocker switch. You do not need this wire anymore. Put a piece of tape over it or something and stash it. My harness takes care of the ground and is hardwired to provide dimming capabilities.

White on the DD harness is the 12V source wire. You will place this wire on the GREEN wire of the new switch connector from my harness.

Blue is the trigger to the relay. You will place this wire on the RED 1 wire of the new switch connector from my harness.

The last wire on your new switch is RED 2 but my harness takes care of it. That's for the switch illumination (+) and is hardwired.

@kmorgan3 if we did the MT harness for under the radio, which switch do we connect/tap into for the illumination? The parking sensor switch?

It's for the HVAC control connector. Remove the head unit and then reach your hand down around the ridge to find the connector roughly in this area:
    2017-Toyota-Tacoma-knobs.jpg

    It will be black

Glad it works! The HVAC harness is a pain in the butt to make.

I still have a few daisy chains left if anyone is in the market. I'll be stepping back from stocking these for a while to focus on other product development; hence the clearance. I need some shelf space!

    Hello @kmorgan3

So I'm gonna be getting 2x ditch lights and 2x light bars for my 3rd gen tacoma. I am planning to use the ch4x4 custom dual small switches (2 buttons 1 switch spot) for mounting next to my ECT switch.

My question is what do I need to buy from you to make this as plug and play as possible!! I'm really bad with electrical.

Let me know when you can please and also where do I purchase the harnesses from ?

Sorry forgot to add the link to the switches I was on about.

I’d just need to build a custom ECT PWR breakout to include the dual connector on the end and then a custom daisy chain. It’s not too hard but there’s a surcharge for custom stuff. The custom dual-style daisy chain is $20 as I make those ones by hand from scratch. Just add $5 to the ECT PWR harness to cover labor of re-pinning (those harnesses are mostly pre-made). Shoot me a PM if you’d like to place an order.

Installed mine today. Took about 10 minutes to do the two switches I needed illuminated. Works great!

Now I have a few spares for the other switches that will be going in!
