New Member Says Hi!

Hello all,

As my kids are getting older and I don't need to taxi them around so much, I wanted something I could work/play with that's reliable but I can still fix myself, that's able to haul heavy clunky tools and dirty stuff in the back, hit some off road trails, etc.

So I figured, with used car resale values being pretty good, that it was time to sell my 2018 Subaru Outback 3.6R in blue pearl with 62000km...



And buy this 2006 Tacoma TRD Off Road access cab in indigo ink with 200000km that a neighbour was selling... yes, I like dark blue vehicles



The Outback can do some of the activities listed above, but not all, and I was tired of "being careful" to preserve resale value. I've been driving Subaru Outbacks for 20 years; I love them, especially in the snow, but my needs are changing, and this truck will do the trick nicely.

Folks and friends think I'm losing it, and you might call me crazy as well, but I don't care. Gonna get used to the Taco over the winter, and start fixing issues I find and upgrade some parts in the spring. Gonna keep/drive this one as long as I can.

Nice! Yes, looks like I'm doing the opposite: out with the new, and in with the old...

 

She'll be a lot more fun to hit the trails in, though! We abused the crap out of our outback offroad and it's so much fun now hitting spots in the taco with ease that would've had me sweatin' in the subie
