all of my vehicles hit 6000+ rpms every time drive them. I paid for the entire tach and I’m darn sure going to use it. Plus there’s nothing better than hitting the perfect shift the split second before the fuel cut

recap: (coming from perspective of AT 04B04)
    1. OVT 2.0 shifting logic with option for:
    1a) Gearing (4.88, 5.29)
    1b) Tire size
    2. Higher RPM (6500 works for me)
    3. Higher Speed
    4. Battery Charging option
    5. Maintain S mode and ECT to work as originally designed using revised F.I. Tune
    6. Delete ACI

dm me if you want to discuss a high altitude (base 5843 ft) tester.

Honestly just having 1. - 1b) would be great compared to what Maggy gave me

    1. OVT 2.0 shifting logic with option for:
    1a) Gearing (4.88, 5.29)
    1b) Tire size

    - done; @a2lowvw has his tune set for 33's for example.

I know you're already aware but for the benefit of others who are not as familiar, this won't fix the speedo

    2. Higher RPM (6500 works for me)

    - a rpm very close to that is already being considered

    3. Higher Speed

For reference, all my tunes get a global speed cap of 302kph, good luck reaching that lol

    4. Battery Charging option

    - done; @Formidable already has my tapering AGM values on his tune

    5. Maintain S mode and ECT to work as originally designed using revised F.I. Tune

    - please clarify

    6. Delete ACI

    - noted; this is being actively explored but I cannot make any promises when it's just not complete. For reference, @Formidable and I worked on just this literally all day Saturday and most of both Sunday and Monday with significant progress made, but solving certain things has a tendency to make other stuff pop up...every action has a reaction lol

Regarding high altitude testing, that sounds like a fantastic opportunity. You're not the first person to offer either, so I really appreciate the support and assistance that you guys are giving/offering.

Let me get further along with these guys down at sea level before moving up in elevation testing.

    Noted.

WRT gearlock/s-mode, my intention was already to leave OEM function available. There is still no elegant solution for gearlock available in VFTuner, the only method that is still available is gross and poor man's gearlock and I just don't like it. So GL likely won't even become an option unless it gets made available to implement properly.

If this tune is a success, I’ll still be sitting on the sidelines, but only more jealous. Perhaps in a year or two. :(

I’m ready for the tune because driving up the mountain hills with this stock Magnuson tune is pretty annoying lol

I just spent a week in the blue ridge mountains.... I feel your pain. Horrible, especially when going up steep inclines. Still scratching my head on the random acceleration loss for a split second before it down shifts.

My focus with @a2lowvw and his truck has not yet progressed to primarily shift logic, but his truck is using Yotawerx shift table values and his feedback has been that the tune revisions that we've decided to use as our baseline or "benchmark" to improve off of already give him a really good driving experience compared to Magnuson v7.

Justin is free to elaborate more on that if he wishes to do so.

That said, the shift logic isn't the primary goal for the tune development at this particular point in time. It will be further addressed if necessary, but it's a bit further down the list of priorities when compared to ensuring the tune is running strongly, smoothly, safely.

Do any of the other LS500 fuel components swap over? Guessing no, seems like Ovtune would have tried this before developing a new controller.

Those are the LS500 injectors we need, but the fuel controller and tune in order to run them are unknowns at this point.

Ok so I got my supercharger installed. Called magnuson for my tune. Told them my mods 40’’ tires 4:88 gears. Bla bla. And now it’s a 10 day wait to receive my tune. I don’t understand how everyone gets the same CARB tune. Why ask what mods I have? Why does it take 10 days?

jeeze! You’re lucky they’re making a tune for you. I doubt they were expecting 40” tires. You’re going to get like 4mpg lol. You definitely will be happy to have the SC to turn those puppies though.

also it says in the fine print that modified vehicles don’t pass CARB anyway. Only the supercharger on an otherwise stock truck is CARB compliant

    EDIT:
Just found your build thread. Sweet truck! I love the livery and all the cool fab work on it.

I’ve read there’s not a hit to gas mileage if you can keep your foot out if it.
Is that even possible? I mean, you still need to spin the supercharger even if you’re not in boost.
    What’s everybody’s experience with mileage?

If I drive the truck "normal" I get the same or slightly better fuel economy. Doing highway trips I get about 2mph better than when it was n/a, towing I average 1.5-2mpg better also. The last few tanks where I'm doing multiple 1/2 and full throttle pulls every couple days the mileage has taken a hit.
