True.. but you know how he is with trees, right? Throw the RTT into the mix. Not to wish bad karma/juju on Randy, at all. But???

At least with the camper on the tundra in the parking lot. He’d have a place to lay his head.

Definitely. Then it will look like a bigger version of that camper Taco that Toyota recently made.
And even some A/C so Mrs. Randy can tag along.

If I could have that camper bed on the tundra and still tow Betty and stay within GVWR, I would be all for it. That would be freaking sweet. Couldn’t happen though, those are just too heavy.

I had a pretty productive day today. The main thing was cleaning up the bed and tent wiring. I previously had a cigarette lighter in the bed for the fridge and just used a cigarette power extension cord ran into the tent to power stuff. It rusted apart being in an open bed, so I needed to fix it.

Installed a 6 gang blue sea fuse block and hard wired in a 4 usb block into the tent. Covered the fuse block in dielectric grease in an effort to prevent corrosion.

I also swapped out my cracked tail light for a good one.

How does the LED strip and everything hold up in the tent when folding it up? That's one of those things that's been on my list for a long time but never bothered to get to haha

So far it's been just fine. I just leave a little slack at and of the bend points. Definitely recommend it, it makes a nice difference. This one is just a lumenoodle because I had it laying around.

Thanks, that makes sense. Maybe this winter when I run out of house maintenance items, other higher priority vehicle maintenance, I get to do this. I want to put an aux fuse box back there for the very reason you stated, I know that if I just put a 12V socket it'll be smoked in no time with the bed and wheel wells being open.

    Dear Mr. Randy,
    :typing:
I seent you in a Baja Designs thread. I gots a question.

Where did you mount your wide cornering lights? I picked up a pair of Squadron pro combo/driving and a pair of sport wide cornering. Not sure how to angle and place them for maximum ass blasting.

They’re all pointed dead straight forward. I have the outer two as WC and the inner four as spot. Creates a fairly good spread of lighting. I used to have them all as WC and the lightbar up top as all spot, but I found a more even spread with the outer lights WC and inner lights spot, both down low and up high.

Very nice. I’ll follow suit. I’m curious to see if the WC overpowers the driving lights or if I can run both on the backroads. I went with the higher powered driving combos so hopefully not. I just want to be able to see a bit more wide than the fogs and add a bit to the mid range.

    want lights, must resist!!

Have secured an internship for the summer though, so maybe its gear and locker time. Then it can be light time

but even before that is finish slider time. Have a week for thanksgiving, so gonna try to knock them out and possibly fabricobble a skid for the trans and tcase area

Psh, we all know the overland conversion rate of 40,000 lumens = 1 locker. Ain't nobody got time for a re-gear and break-in
