Not the OP but I went with the SLEE mount and it works great.

That is one of the things I love most about my AG, it is ever changing color depending on light and surroundings. I fall in love with it every couple of days because of this!

Whoa. Did she order them, or make them herself. Change the girl to brunette, and I'm in for two. Tell her to name her price.

Hey, brother, I think I've asked you this before. Where is a good place to trail ride, that wont give me pinstripes? Went up to Ocala a few weeks ago, and it was a mess up there. Got to ride a bit at Big Oaks ranch, but it was pretty vanilla.

Had a couple butthole puckering moments but got the ECGS bushing installed this morning. Considering my previous "mechanic" portfolio included basically nothing but oil changes and brake jobs I'm pretty happy about it.

Couldn't get the removal tool behind the old bearing at first. Tried tapping and in the process damaged several of the "rollers" in the needle bearing... so at that point I knew I had to figure it out since there was no going back. Managed to get it back in there with a couple good taps. Pretty amazing feeling when you first start seeing it move. Realized after I got it out that in smacking it in I destroyed the rear lip of the needle bearing. Spent a good five minutes magnet fishing... hopefully didn't miss anything but from looking at the damage and the shards it seems I got everything.

Had a heck of a time getting the new bushing to start flush (and that was after leaving it in the freezer for two days and spending on the official ECGS install tool). I found that my initial trouble was in trying to hit the end of the tool to start it... instead I switched to very light taps around the edge of the tool to get it started, and then transitioned to hitting the end of the tool once it was straight and snug.

Whew! Time for a beer and then start trying to get everything put back together...

Check your local classifieds, I see them often in my area for less than half of MSRP value used. Like you said they’re nice but for the amount of space you loose vs what the system offers I don’t see the point. Could be usefull for hunters I suppose, keep your gear in the drawers and kill on the deck.

my boss made his own version of this idea except his drawers were maybe 6” tall. He just used it for tools and stuff instead of them being loose in the box. He was a contractor and his version still let him use his box as a regular box because he was only loosing about 7-8” of depth. That was two work trucks ago though he he’s never made another one, everything is just loose in his cab now lol.

drawers are a cool idea for like a minute.

Depends on who you ask... lol. Some say it's pointless.

Basically when you lift the truck two or more inches you MIGHT get a particular type of vibration that this mod can fix. Some say you may never get the vibration, and therefore you shouldn't do this mod until after lifting. Some say you might as well just preemptively do this mod at the same time as the lift since you're doing half the work to get to it anyway. Then there are a handful of folks around here I've seen say it's all snake oil / placebo and there's no point in doing it all. So there's that.

I intended to do it at the same time as my lift, but I'm still waiting on my lift kit ordered a couple months ago. I had some time off work this week and decided to tackle this.

Here's a video that does a really good job showing the differences between the removed needle bearing and replacement bushing:

Pretty common nowadays. When I took my 2020 in for its 16k service - same thing. Nothing new - and literally *EVERY* salesperson asked if I wanted to *SELL* my Tacoma for 10k over price I bought it.
