I thought so, but couldn't remember.

I had a funny thought the other day. I wonder if he has ever made a :rasta: water pipe out of scraps of glass? :D

    Not cold enough !

Though that does remind me of back in the late eighties a good Freeze in Jacksonville since it never freezes why use enough antifreeze to do more then give corrosion protection .

They found Antifreeze is cheap compared to cracked blocks in Heavy Duty Trucks.

Oddly enough that's probably the question people ask me about it the most lol. I could definitely make a pipe of some kind but I never have. For one thing the material we use is not as easily manipulated as soft glass like Pyrex which is what someone would likely choose for pipe making, because fused Quartz which is what I'm trained to work with requires way way more heat to become workable and that gives limitations to the thickness and complexity of shapes that are possible. The other thing is that my boss is and has been for 30 years a leader of the local narcotics anonymous chapter and therefore has no tolerance for drugs or paraphernalia, so I wouldn't risk any trouble on a pipe experiment.

With that said, it's definitely possible and I'd be curious to try. A guy who just started working with us actually has soft glass working experience including pipe making, and it does sound really interesting all the things they can do with that glass.

It aint cold at all, that's the joke. 75/61 here today, I just always joke Florida being perfect in the winters is what makes the yankees drag their winnebagos down and clog up the fast lane.

Come on down, bring the fam but just keep it moving in the fast lane.

Pasties are known pretty well from coming from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

My grandmothers parents were immigrants that settled in U.P. to work the iron and copper mines in that area. I mostly use her recipe.

Pasties had to be able to keep all day without great care. They were referred as "arm pit" food. The miners kept them close to their bodies so they would have a warm meal at lunch time.

Most recipes call for ground root type vegatables and a small amount of ground meat. I add parcely and onion along with the normal potatoes, carrots and rutabagas. I used ground venison this time, so I expect them to be a bit dryer this batch. No biggie. They taste awesome with KFC gravy. Most of the family likes ketchup on theirs.

I do cheat and use frozen pie crust. It saves a lot of time making the dough.

    Stayed busy all day today.
There's never any set work crews here. Some days I'll get sent with guys who have a little more finesse, forward thinkers if you will
Other days I'll be with the get a larger hammer crew.
    Today was the latter one....

    About time to go home.
