Truck shut off while idling

Ok i work at toyota and idk really on this one.Only one i can think of was idle air or somthing like that.I drove it to my work 15 miles away and it never had a problem.stoped at a light and it started idling rough then shut off.I restarted it,gave it gas and it ran perfect.Idk becuase i drove it home and its still runing perfect.

 

Bad gas?

 

Possible fuel filter clog also.

 

I was also think maybe bad gas or filter but wasnt for sure.Or maybe a cloged fuel line ive seen that happen befor

 

You work at Toyota?.. as mechanic?.. Why are you asking us these questions. At my dealer they have like 20+ Techs. Ask the other tech's there that DEAL with that shit everyday for possibly 1-30 years of experience...?.........

 

Im not at work today and im pretty sure i know its the gas and they said when i called one probly gas and yea just becuase were mechanics dont mean we no everything.Newer cars are a little easier and even with bad gas they tell u.Im pretty sure its gas jw what other ppl thought.If i was at the shop the first thing i would have pulled a fuel pressure test and see what it says then looked at gas but cant do that at my house becuase all the race cars are in my garage.

 

True, after years of putting gas in the tank, there might be gunk and chunks that may have been sucked up, check the flow of the fuel when/if you remove your fuel filter (from both sides). If its flowing smoothly then it may be time for a filter change.

yea my fuel pressure gauge is at work so cant do it at home but tom when i get in the shop im goin to pull a fuel pressure test.

 

one thing i have ran into with these trucks is that they tend to have a heart attack every once in a while. my truck has had all of three heart attacks. just cut off one day on a trail then started up fine, my abs had a heart attack on a dry road the other day under light braking, and threw check engine light a two months ago then went off and nothing since. you truck shutting of is odd i have noticed at red lights the stall converter make the truck vibrate.
