Mine's actually a Limited trim, but it was also the only AWD/4WD V8 4Runner I could find within 100 miles when I was ready to buy (had to drive about an 80 mile round trip to take a test drive, then it was a 45 minute lyft ride to go pick it up from the lot). As far as interior "bells and whistles" go, it's actually the best-equipped of my 3 vehicles; no nav system but it's the only one with a double-DIN touch screen head unit that could probably run that function, and it has remote start through a viper alarm (after-market) that the lot I bought it from didn't seem to know about which is a popular mod that I couldn't care less about having, although I do get why some people in colder climates than L.A. would have a use for it. The XREAS and RAS added some complexity to getting the lift put on, but also gave me some ideas for where to put the compressors for the OBA that I want to add, both for tire inflation and for running at least a rear air-locker.

Can't stand this, the TRD-Sport or OR badges. Makes me cringe. Saw one on an older gen 2 early year with faded paint and it looked hideous.

Anyone who thinks bull bars are worthless hasn’t met this guy (clearly pissed off people kept calling it a mall crawler).

Probably been said before but I didn't read through 49 pages to check....

    Raptor style grille lights.

Grille mounted or lower light bars.

Haha, you can easily do water crossings with stock breather.

Stock diff breather is pretty high up. Water gotta be higher than the bottom of your doors to do anything to the breather. If you have a small lift and have slightly larger tires, the diff breather mod is useless.

Go under your truck and see how high the breather is.

I find that most people say that have never lived abroad or immigrated themselves. You don't need to think "mY CoUntRy iS thE bEsT iN thE wOrLD" to want to live in that place. Everything has its pros and cons, just like owning a tacoma vs owning a jeep. Hurray for tribalism.

People who peal off badging that they payed for. Why would anyone be that stupid.

My 1997 Tacoma and my 2014 Corolla both have a spot on the gas door to stick the cap in while fueling, so it is Toyota's fault I needed a gashole to put things in...

I can probably piss everyone off with my vent rings, the outside two are Meso MGM, but I left the middle two chrome (for whatever reason my seat position gave me a reflected vent ring ghost over each side view mirror).

I thought Raptor lights were dumb, but kind of want some just to piss people off cheap. I though I would need a stupid spacer/body lift to do that, but to get so much hate for so cheap sounds like a bargain.

Do the car seats in the back count as a mod? I mean if stickers count....

The stock location is basically at the 11 o'clock position on the top of the diff...not high. Even with 35" tires, the stock location is still only at 20" that's not adequate for a real water crossing IMHO.
Yes, you can do "water crossings" with the stock breather. However, get stuck in a soupy mess where the water is above that location with a hot differential, and the water vacuums in. Oddly enough, Toyota does factory diff breather extensions for the front. Why they don't on the rear is beyond me.

Everyone has their own style and "you do you, it's your money. No one else is earning it for you." Even the over sized tires and exhaust just to be loud, you do you.

But, what I don't get (which is still falling under the same philosophy) is the buying the upper, more expensive trims just to mod it and take things off and replace them from there (not talking about choosing 4x4 over 4x2).

I am guessing you either didn’t have the 4G63 or never popped the hood and saw the timing belt cover? That is what the bulge was for.

my 2015 blew out the driveshaft/differential seal because the breather quit breathing. A cheap part to replace. The seal replacement was a lot more.
