    Oh joy
Does anyone else have an issue with the wireless charging cooking their phone?
And thanks Toyota for putting the ugliest grill on your most expensive truck, and making sure we can’t swap it out, oh dynamic cruise control radar sh*t

Yes. I had that problem while driving home from college a few weeks ago. The grille can be switched out with a 2020+ TRD pro grille, or the nightshade edition grille. Some aftermarket options out there too that have oem camera mounts

My phone came pre cooked from the factory. And yes, you can swap the grill. Plenty of threads on that here.

According to dealers it will not be comparable with limited edition dynamic cruise radar, called more then one and spoke to techs. It is something they get calls on a lot, cause they put the ugliest grill they could find on it
Tried the TRD pro grille, not workin with this truck, and can’t order nightshade grille yet. Breaking out the rattle can

You 100% can swap grilles. There are multiple trims with radar cruise control. Pro Grill, SR grille, SR5 grille, TRD grille (not to mention compatible aftermarket grilles)... they are all compatible, as long as it came off of a +2020 truck. The dealer is wrong...

If they're telling you that you can't swap grilles... yes!

Toyota will say the same thing for every 2018+ tacoma. Its a liability issue because it involves a safety feature. They say that so you can't sue them if the PCS doesn't prevent an accident

You have too much faith in the dealerships. My local dealer told me the Pro skid plate won't fit my TRD Sport lol.

It'll be fine. You can swap grills; just make sure the grill is from a truck that has radar cruise. The cruise control is the same between the models with radar cruise. I have a 20 OR grill on my 19. You unbolt your stock radar sensor and bolt it to the new grill. Real quick and easy to do.

I don't use the wireless charging because all it does is get my phone hot.

Technically that is true... you had to remove the front air dam to fit it... so it wasn't technically compatible with the Sport... But yeah, most dealers don't know what they're talking about.

I should elaborate that they said the bolts would not line up as different than the regular skid plate. Which I knew was untrue due to my research on the plate. One would think they would train them better, especially when it involves upgrades. Why leave it to the aftermarket companies to make the money?

My dealer installed the TRD skid plate no problem. Gladly paid them the 1/2 hour labor charge in order to avoid crawling my fat ass under the truck and trying to hold the thing up myself. Not one word that it couldn't be done. I did take the air dam off myself before I got there. Also, I think the problem with the grill is not necessarily the TSS stuff but more so for those who have the front facing camera. Very limited options (OEM pro grill is the only one I've seen) for accommodating the front camera.

Regarding the charging, it's slow but mine works. The phone gets warm but nowhere near cooking temperatures.

Dealer is wrong, Source; I worked at a dealer and we put a Pro grill on a limited for a customer.

So the powers that be, were correct
Put a 2021 sport grill on my limited
When buying or swapping grill, make sure your grill comes with front camera mount since you can’t buy individually
Also changed to color matching mirror covers
Sport grill looks nice on the silver
