I did some research on that right before I bought my 2021. The way to see if you have the problem is to look at the right side of your transmission at the connection point. If you see pink stains, you're affected. The actual repair itself requires Toyota to lift the cab off of the truck (I don't have the link but there is a youtube video detailing all of this)

Removing the intake manifold is enough to gain access to replace it, still tight, but doable. That was the way mine was replaced

La Nina has to be really mean in that direction. I was turning into an amphibian here.

Evans could solve this issue, but a proper conversion requires a lot more than draining and refilling.... better to just replace with a proper part.

    Great to hear!

I think it is sporadic, but comforting to verify.

Site I found that on might have been trying to jack up the repair fee with the body lift. Glad there's another way to get at it. Disappointed Toyota didn't put something more robust back there or came up with a better design. Wonder what the failure rate is on that part.

The engine originally has a aluminum part, thanks Mike Sweers for the "improvement" of Toyota's QRD

I really need to get my peepers back there and check on this. I have a slight leak somewhere and cannot find it to save my life.

Edit: On a related note we inherited my dad's RX350. I should just steal it off of that and do the work for a swap. :spy:

if the job pays 10 hours and you can get it done in 2 then great. its Posted labor time.... if you don't want to/cant do it and pay someone to do it and they do it in 2 and charge you posted labor time, then that is fair, you didn't want to / couldn't so you paid a professional to do it... a mechanics job is to work quickly and efficiently. that's how we make money.. its not overcharging its charging what the posted labor time says...
