Saw that, not sure why his is not working. Maybe he needs to update his VFtuner?? Or turn it off, then back on, LOL.

    Here's my process:
    1. Flash tune
    2. Turn truck off
    3. Turn truck back to Ignition On
    4. Reset ECU
    5. Reset TCU (If AT)
    6. Clear DTC's
Works every time. Don't need to prepare ECU after turning truck back on after a flash.

Do you start up after the flash or go straight to the resets?

Karl is right, you do not need to hit Prepare ECU. Do the Reset first, then hit Prepare ECU and then flash.
    Just tested.

Ok, so the sequence is truck on, reset ECU, clear TCU, prepare ECU & flash. Thanks. I’m a bit leery after my brush with a soft brick situation last April.

    Yep, that worked…

Did the reset and clears before doing the Prepare ECU.

    Thanks again for the help

Get some miles on it. After a reset it will need some time (Miles) for the tune learn and settle in.

I always just prepare ECU, flash the file, turn truck off, start truck and let it run for a minute. Turn it off, then turn on ignition, hit reset ECU, then reset tcu. Turn off then, start it.

Ok. Did the resets and flashed my mildly customized KDMax-Pro. I didn’t think that KDM6 could be improved upon but so far the Pro has improved it in 4 areas. (Initial reaction).

    1. Normal throttle appears to eliminate any minor dead pedal issues that I’d encountered on all previous tunes.
    2. Pulling up 1 through 4 heavy throttle, very smooth and linear with plenty of power (butt dyno) and no power surge at 3k. Just powers from the ground up.
    3. Shifting is smoother. (Didn't think that was possible)
    4. Holds OD 6 under light throttle for speed increase or mild incline.

Plenty more to check out after it settles in but so far it looks good.

Thank you to @PapaRee and @TWTaco and all the testers for the great work. :burnrubber:

I will say running sport, I hit the gas on a left turn and I was like “ohh ohh we’re going now!” In a good way! Not jumpy, not dead, just solid!

There’s a shop with a dyno 5 minutes from where I’m working so I called them up and asked if I could get my Taco in for some pulls. He asked what bolt pattern I have to tie it down on the dyno which I had no answer for. He then said I couldn’t do it anyway with an AT because I had to start in 4th. Anyone have experience with their Taco on a dyno? Did you put in in 4th with the manual sport shift then start from a standstill? Seems odd to me but any input is appreciated.

Nice! Are you heavy on armor at all? Or towing? I’m wanting the sport but the only thing I have is the all steel rear bumper, not towing but occasional truck bed hauling…

Im heavy, dropped some weight recently but made it back up in other places! 35s 5.29 steel hybrid front and triple swing back. Every on trail replaceable piece in the truck minus a drive shaft. Recently went to aluminum skids vs steel. Done doing the break my truck runs and just camping. I have a TinyCamper to tow haven’t gotten it out with the new tune, but prolly in a few weeks.
