Yeah! I would really appreciate borrowing the removal tool. I can pay in beer  .... for a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.

I work in Renton, live in Bonney Lake. I got the skillz, just need the tool, but it would be cool to meet up and join the party!

For those of you who have installed, do we also need the bushing/seal installer tool?

I have the bushing and seal installer. If you're in a newer truck and it's not leaking, I highly recommend leaving the old seal in place. You're more likely to cause a leak by replacing it.

From what i understand you can just use a bearing and race installer tool. Either rent it from the auto parts store, or buy (and return) it from HF.

This is true and how I installed mine. However, the smallest race driver that they have is too big for the bushing, so you end up using it kind of backwards. I've since obtained the ECGS bushing installer and it's properly sized to fit the bushing and installs much easier.

This is the kit I originally bought and what most auto part stores offer... Note the diameter (red arrow) is bigger than the ECGS bushing diameter, so it doesn't fit. But when I used it, I just flipped the metal disc around and drove it in with the backside. It's easier for the tool to hit the bushing out of square, but just be cognizant and you'll be fine.

Since my install though, I've obtained the proper tool from ECGS and it goes much smoother. Note the smaller diameter on the driver and it's made from HDPE, so it won't damage the material inside the bushing.

Great information! That’ll help out a lot. Stoked to get it done finally. Hopefully it solves my 25-35mph vibes. If not my next thought is the front driveline u-joints, which need replacing anyways (Already rebuilt the rear)

Well guys I did my ECGS bushing install last weekend. Huge thanks again to @Bertw192 for loaning me the tools, appreciate it!

Went super smooth, ended up replacing my diff fluid too since it was quite black :anonymous: I was replacing my axles anyways so couldn't have been a better time to do it. Don't pay a shop, with the right tools this job is easy!

Bad news is I still have vibrations at 25-35mph sometimes... so that really didnt fix my problem. Just reduced the CV play, so hopefully that helps with something.

I guess its on to the next idea, I'm thinking my front driveshaft for sure needs new U-Joints. When I rebuild my rear shocks I'll throw those axles shims I never installed that angles the rear diff up a little so the rear driveshaft is more aligned.

If that doesn't fix the vibrations I'm out of ideas... maybe cab/engine bushings?
