My truck just turned 1 year last week. It just rolled over to 3k miles also. I am thinking of taking it in for an oil change soon. I am not worried about the oil. Usually something else is the cause of our engines demise other than the oil quality unless it is NEVeR changed.

Organic? Do you know USDA organic regulations allow residues of prohibited pesticides up to 5 percent of the EPA tolerance?! You really should volunteer more at your local free earth collective. My dog and I always go. Oh you asked about my dog? He's a rescue

Whoa, you are getting a little carried away with your analogy. Oil is a lubricant. Nothing more, nothing less. I find it hilarious that people put so much over thinking into it. People that don't get obsessed with it are not suffering oil related problems any more than the nuts who change it ever 1000 miles, send it off for analysis, and get off testing the viscosity on their shaft while looking at oil data on bob's oil site.

Honestly, the fluid that is probably the most important and by far the most neglected is your brake fluid. Oddly I never see anyone suggesting one brand over another and no one is sending it out for analysis.

I switched (my previous vehicle) to LV brake fluid to improve ABS performance. Does that count?

I always send my brake fluid out for analysis. I also send my drive shaft off for radiographic testing and balancing every 6 months :anonymous:

I’ll go there. Castro SRF. The very best money can buy. For your road race car. True story. Louis Gigliotti used to do track days with us. We saw him pouring what looked like used motor oil into his master cylinder. And asked. He said it was used SRF brake fluid from his dads Trans Am (series) Corvette.

We used to bleed brakes after every day on a road course. Switching to Brembos and SRF ended all that work.

I suspect most vehicles go to their grave with the factory fill of brake fluid though.

I'd assume its 100% See here (not LM but similar): https://www.acsmaterial.com/pub/media/catalog/product/file/SDS-Molybdenum_Disulfide_MoS2_.pdf You're probably running MSDS on a Liqui Moly motor oil with MoS2. I was referring to an MoS2 additive that is sold by itself, see here: https://products.liqui-moly.us/additives/mos2-anti-friction-engine-treatment.html

That first one is literally 100% moly from a chemical company selling 100% moly, it isn't either assembly lube or moly additive. It is raw moly powder, not assembly lube.

The second is a molly additive that you pour into the oil, which is what I quoted as having ~1% moly. We still don't know what percentage of moly your average assembly lube uses
