Expensive? It looks fairly close to the National Forest so I assume good exploring/wheeling is fairly close.

This whole area is expensive. The further away you get from Seattle the cheaper it is but the area as a whole continues to rise in price. There is a fair amount of wheeling in the area from mild to wild.

I live in Everett. It’s meh.

Expensive? Yes. But relatively “more affordable” than other areas south of Everett i.e. Seattle, Mill Creek, Bellevue

But I grew up in WA, so everything here is expensive to me now. Never thought I’d had to move up to Everett just to find a house to afford.

Meh as in fun things to do or just the city is meh? I currently live in Albuquerque working at the power company. I saw Snohomish PUD and it peaked my interest so I though I would check in here and get the scoop.

Everett used to have a reputation, I think it was the second most meth lab busts, behind Marysville to the north, back in the late 90s. Now, as people are pushed out of the city it's become less Ever-rot and more of the garbage is getting pushed out. It still has it's trouble areas for sure, but it's getting better. If you get a job at SnoPud there's a few of us here you'll probably be out to our areas during storms.

It had a reputation in the 90s-early 2000s at least. Definitely getting more and more gentried but basically it was like the northern version of Renton if that make sense.

I grew up in Everett, still work here but live a town over to the East in Lake Stevens.

Everett itself I feel like is a bit overpriced and you deal with all the usual crap you get in a medium sized city but if you work in the area and are willing to commute 30 or so minutes most of the surrounding areas are still pretty nice and can be a slightly more affordable. Lake Stevens, Snohomish, Monroe and then a little further out in Granite Falls, Arlington or Stanwood are all pretty good areas, I personally would avoid Marysville like the plague but there are some decent pockets there too.

If moving to the area from somewhere else and planning to buy a place I would recommend planning on renting for a year in Everett (rent prices are out of control right now though) so you can get out and explore the area to see where you might fit in the best or if this whole area is just too much to deal with and get out while you can, haha.

As far as things to do, there is all kinds of outdoor stuff to do if you like fishing, hunting, hiking, etc. For truck fun there are lots of forest service roads to explore but most of the more adventurous offroading and things of that nature are a bit of a trek to the other side of the mountains or down South.

I guess it’s “meh” on both accounts. I’m on the border of Mukilteo and Everett, so the area I am in is very convenient since there’s a lot of stores (two Costco’s, mall, Walmart, Safeway, Home Depot etc within 10 mins). Lots of crackheads and homeless at the Home Depot 5 mins away.

If you can afford it, Id look into the Snohomish/Mill Creek area.

I really like my 265/70/R17 BFGoodrich KO2s. Haven't taken them on snow yet, but if you look around, you'll see a lot of people running these!

Got the sliders installed at @adventurefab in Vancouver. Nick is crazy talented and super nice guy. He has quite the collection of awesome land cruisers.

Weld-on sliders is more of a commitment than marriage.

I felt the same way but for having my overall cost being at $500 I was good with it. At the end of the day if I really wanted to take them off nothing an angle grinder couldnt handle. With all the bolt on sliders being more than double this just made sense for me.

Costs less than $500 to cut them off, a wise decision. Those are definitely burly

Mine was 280, plus pizza/beer. I did have it coated with POR15, then primed, then rattlecanned as well. The POR15 definitely helps with the little chips. But against the trees and rocks I just grab a piece of cardboard and rattle can it. Best mod I've had for the truck. Plus, zero door dings in 5 years.

I feel bad for whoever opens their door into my sliders. They are not going to have a good day

Just a few weeks ago I was grabbing something from the store and when I came back my wife said someone slammed their truck door into the slider so hard she felt the truck shake. Dude apologized and my wife checked that it didn't hit the truck, but I wish I could have seen what happened to his door lol.

Yeah I had him put them out pretty far so they could be used as steps for our kids. They are like boat pontoons

I had someone leave a note on my truck, apologizing for hitting my truck in the parking lot and scratching my rear bumper. They sent me photos and they can-opened their door and crunched in the cab some. Rear bumper ftw lol
