My Mesa Rectumfrier and 4x12 was only $1300 mint and never left my buddy's bedroom.

    steal.

I had bought a scratch and dent Rivera Mick Thompson and it was amazing but literally used it once and band broke up... brought it to the "factory" (the building is shared with a plumbing supply company and has no sign haha) because the reverb had a little issue. It was fixed for free even though I didn't buy it directly from them and it was a scratch and dent. Ended up returning it within the 30 day return policy. Been using a Roland Cube 80 since haha

Yea, I sold it. Got $1500 for it.
I have a Fender Bass amp I sometimes use but I mostly just use my Eleven rack for an amp.

Like I said awhile ago when Line 6 Gearbox's updates stopped for iOS, I've been searching for a super inexpensive good amp simulator. Like having nice sounds with a click of a mouse like the Eleven rack on a budget - most of the amp sims aren't as awesome as the 10 year old Line 6 Gearbox imo. Gave the Cube 80 to a student that needed an amp and have been ampless lately. Considered a Blues Jr. or Fender HRD style but barely play to justify the expense.

I can't believe those are going for crazy money now. It's just a solid state amp that Josh Homme used to use. No one even cared about it until some video came out about it.

I know! I got one of those in my closet at my folks place…I think there is a red Yamaha bass in there too. Black light posters, some ghostbusters slime…what else :)
I could also post that my Peavy was originally used by the first band Saliva..however this was my grunge band in the early 90s…before there was one, or at least I didn’t know of them. Lol

That's awesome. I used to have a Peavey Rage 158 in the 90s. I played grunge and punk. Damn that was such a bad ass time to be a teenager. Music was much awesome. Skateboarding. Snowboarding. Weed made me feel great and not paranoid. Going to friends houses and recording all their CD's on cassette because you couldn't afford the new stuff. Would go to shows every weekend because the group of friends I had where also in a punk band called "Din." Kinda wish I still had that amp out of nostalgia lo! I have no clue what happened to that and my guitar from then. I'm sure I traded it for something stupid.

Heck man, you could probably sell that amp and get a new bigger one. Your bass is probably considered super rare now too. All the kids from the 90s have money now and want to relive those times. Even the young cats now are hungry for anything 90s. Can't say I blame them, they got a fuct up time to be kids now. Walking on eggs shells all the time.

I had an old Peavey Bandit 65 back in the 80’s while stationed in California. Ran it through a bass cab with a Black Widow 15” speaker. It sounded pretty good actually.

Couldn’t agree more. The music was so diverse, each band had their own sound even if they played the same exact cord progressions lol
You could suck on the guitar and still be in a band and sound decent. Lol

My sisters were older than me and getting into some pretty good trouble, so my mom was like. Take over the basement, have your friends over, act like it’s MTV in your basement…just don’t play that fucking Nirvana song one more time. We were famous for covering every album by them…and we played that shit into the ground bro. It was her attempt to keep me out of trouble.

You know, it's cool when you come into some great guitars especially for a steal of a price. It's just a bummer when you can't bond with it. The 2019 50s standard I got is just plain awesome. Tone and playability are none better. The 1984 custom les paul I bought from a coworker I just can't bond with. The tone and the way it plays don't compare to the 50s standard. Tone is alright from the Shaw pickups but the frets and fretboard take some getting used to and to me it just doesn't play as well. I might have to let it go. It's a cool guitar but I'd rather have something that's really cool that plays well too. Gonna try and see what I can get for the custom and put some of it towards this...
    https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/msg/d/cincinnati-gibson-les-paul-wildwood/7409122882.html

Basically the same as what I have just a brighter flame and some cool features. What a beautiful guitar.

Yeah, it's more about if you and the guitar work than it's vintage really.

    I'd do the same.

Plus hasn't ownership of Gibson changed hands a ton of times and it changed the quality from one year to the another. Could check out Heritage guitars. They're still make in the Kalamazoo factory Gibson had and I guess they are great guitars. There LPs looks bad ass. Pricey though.

I really like his style and how he came up through the ranks playing out in in the desert. Literally help create that desert rock sound. There's a pretty sweet documentary about it. I'll try to find it. It's about that area in Cali where desert rock came from.

Look at the one in the craigslist link. It's basically the same guitar I have (a standard 50's) just a nicer flame, custombuckers vs burstbuckers and the cool pick guard. I love the one I have and this would be a slightly different tone and could play it at shows occasionally. I just LOVE the standard 50s les pauls from 2019+. They're incredible guitars.

I got a 2017 I like a lot! People always ask me what’s up with it, because it’s a standard with zebra pickups. Came from the factory this way…just don’t see them like this often.
This axe will rip! Action is great.

It's THE rock n' roll guitar. IMO of course.
