    You should call Ted Lorenz. He's all about sticking it to those evil trucking companies.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:
    Well, it wasn't from the truck I was sharing the road with. Shred was on the road in the middle of us - he clipped it, and I collected it. I didn't know it did damage until I got to Georgetown.

    Retired my personal Taco from the work fleet and got myself a company Taco. Bittersweet as I won’t have to abuse my baby anymore but I have to start over from scratch in terms of my work set up.BEDA5BBD-2956-4ABB-91C4-0837A9233683.jpg

    Just hauled a Datsun back from Colorado. Does anyone know a good shop in the Austin area to get a good carburetor tune. It idles a little rough.

    Something for everyone to consider. Maybe TTC can show up strong for this toy drive. Where your TTC swag, fly your TTC flag. Let's get this out there.

    I think it looks a little better with the vinyl removed, I did it when I had my taco.

    Fresh gas first!

    I had NOS (new old stock) Hitachi Carb for a '79 510 L20B, no bidders on eBay. A guy in San Antonio bought it for $50 (I paid $300 in 1980 for it sitting in the box for 40 years).

    Very clean Datsun. I'd get a carb kit and do it yourself. There are a few check balls to look out for. The most common issue was an idle adjustment screw when someone ham-fisted and tightened too tight, destroying the tapered needle. Good rebuild kits came with new ones, but it's been ages since I rebuilt one.

    Ultrasonic cleaners. Learning how to "reverse click" screws during assembly (light pressure, turn screw backward until you feel that click then tighten). Impress your friends with "why does screw have a dimple in it).

    My son had his Datsun 210 (RWD, 1500cc, 5 spd) and would get 45 mpg to San Antonio and back. It great little car, sadly rear-ended. He is still driving his '92 240SX Coupe.

    EDIT: I'm thinking that's a 1976 210, but not sure (my memory is slipping).

    So since I posted it is running a bit better with a few things done. Moved the idle from about 800rpm's to 1,100 and now it stays on no matter what. Also put in some 93 octane gas since what was in it was 85 octane from Colorado. The carb is fairly new (maybe 1,000 miles since install). The shop that did the state inspection (which it passed) said the carb looked good. I was looking at maybe taking it to Austin Z Clinic to have them give the whole car a look over. Thought they may be able to help or point me in the right direction of some other parts I need (like window seals).

    This is a 1978 200SX so it has the L20B. The car was my girlfriends grandmas car which she bought new in 78. Has 81,000 miles on it. Thanks for all the information/advice. This will be a fun little project/toy. Just have to keep in mind the taco comes first lol.

    I wonder if the elevation change needs to be taken into account?
