Couple questions. Got mine installed a few days ago. Once I boot wireless Android Auto it gets to the screen freezes and crashes. Have you experienced this?

Also for the GPS. Is yours incredibly weak? I tried mounting it in the dash and it doesn't work, sometimes works under the dash, above it works 90% of the time. Thinking about buying a better GPS module, but where did you mount yours? And how'd you route the wire?

I haven't had it crash but it sometimes just keeps trying to connect but all other head unit functions seem to work fine.

I'm finding that android auto is rather buggy though. The maps works great for a couple days and then it doesn't want to connect properly. Rebooting the phone or the head unit usually makes it all work great the next time but it is kind of stupid to have to need to do that semi regularly.

As for the gps, mine is tucked under the dash right behind the radio and near the windshield in that kind of V shaped spot between plastic vent pipes. I used some cut up rubber foam to butt the module up against the underside of the top of the dash. Even if the android auto isn't synched it seems to know on the map where the truck is although directions refuse to work without AA connection.

Frustrating. They just emailed me saying Carlink 2.0 may not work on my head unit even though it's the newest model the 10.1" and even they confirmed it would work. I just ordered an aftermarket gps antenna hopefully it'll be stronger. You have the black rounded top facing upwards correct?

Also whenever I installed both 4g antennas my hotspot connection was significantly worse than just having one so I took one of them out lmao

Cool thanks. Apparently Joying sent me a message last night saying CarLink 2.0 doesnt work on the model I bought and they said it would lol. This is a shit show. Apparently the 1920*1200 screen doesn't work with it lmao - doesn't even make sense

I take it you updated like the formerly posted video (update files in the link). I found the instructions crappy but reading the comments it says to unzip the file then put it on the USB drive. Then reboot after installing. I did the firmware update first then the android auto.

Also it says android 11 needed on the phone.

So far I'm not that impressed with android auto but hopefully it gets updated into something less buggy in the near future. I've found rebooting the phone and/or head unit periodically helps it connect properly.

I haven’t tried installing it either, but the couple reviews on Amazon said the cameras amazing picture wise, only complaint was it’s not really that wide of an angle.

mine came with the truck. The only issue I’ve had is the lag time between the entune application for the IPhone keeping up with each other. Other than that, been amazing. The phone works great, is clear on calls, and has enough good options to play pretty loud. If your an “audio-guy” who can distinguish every sound variation, I don’t know how good it is. I’ve had zero failures with backup camera, maps, calls, stereo fm/am, Digital radio, or Sirus XM. Can even import your own stArt up and OFf images.

Mine will be here on Dec 8th. I have to replace my antenna base with it as well since my antenna is broken off and I can't get it out. So I will be doing both at the same time. I ordered the 8" so I have knobs. I also plan on working my backup cam to show up on screen.

Truck is an 09 trdof dcsb with jbl.

My Joying unit arrives today. Ordered the exact same unit as the OP. BAsed on the very helpful replies in this thread, I went for the unit with knobs since my steering wheel doesnt have any controls. Never installed a stereo myself. I don't intend to use the mic. Hoping its a simple pry, plug, and play.

I did not get any of the bells and whistles, though I do very much wish my truck came with a backup cam. I would have needed to go aftermarket, and I am too boneheaded to run my own wire.

    Base 09 DCSB V6 4WD.

Thanks man. So If I have a Joying unit from the OP, and plug this baby into it, and the other end maybe into: This $79 tailgate handle cam from amazon, it should plug n play? even if I didnt specifically buy the joying "backup cam" add-on?

I saw that tailgate cam linked in the thread and thought dang, if only. I do alot of city parking so it would be helpful.
