Any chance you have an updated link for that extension you got on ebay? The one I saw earlier in this thread is broken now.

Also wanted to drop the part numbers here for the manual trans clutch reservoir parts that I found in another thread. They were mentioned a few posts back, but the part numbers were not. Hope this helps @jwarr or anyone else looking to do this on a manual.

Remote clutch master reservoir PN 31402-20160.
Remote clutch master res Bracket PN 31408-60010
    Clutch master float PN 31426-22020
Cap Assembly PN 314053-5020 (edit: not needed. The reservoir comes with a cap)

I used the original link and it looks like that “listing has ended”.

I did some searching and it appears this one has the same dimensions all around and should fit the bill

Very much appreciated. Ordered one grabbed some screenshots of the lengths to memorialize them in case the link doesnt work down the road

Has anyone done this upgrade without swapping the calipers and rotors to the 4runner stuff? Would love to stick with 16' wheels if I can, but also would like the option of doing a brake upgrade down the road after 35s go on it later this year. Is the booster/master upgrade not worth the effort without the 4runner parts?

I haven't done what you're asking but I'm positive the booster and MC swap does more for Tacomas than the rotor and caliper swap. The Tacoma single diaphragm booster to the Tundra dual diaphragm booster is going to make a huge difference in the amount of pressure needed on the brake pedal and the larger Tundra MC will move more fluid which means your brake pedal will have to move a shorter distance to achieve the same braking force and it'll do it with much less pressure on the brake pedal.

The bigger question to me is it going to move too much fluid with too little brake pedal pressure required... I don't think it'll be a problem.

You'll be able to launch passengers that refuse to wear a seat belt through the windshield easily (lol) - but I'm not advising to try that launching.

Appreciate the question and response on this as I have been wondering exactly the same thing. I am collecting parts to swap the booster and master cylinder and replace all rubber lines with stainless or hard lines, but not do the calipers and rotors at this time because of the cost of tires and wheels. If I stumble across a good deal on 17s, at least rest will be done.

I think I know the answer to this, but has anyone with the 12mm fittings on their tacoma master been able to find pre-made lines? I think both of the individuals I saw on here with the larger lines either made their own, or had them made at a shop. Just wanted to confirm before I order all the bits and pieces. That's the last thing I need before talking this mod.

I still believe the results to be amazing. I've still had no issues with this upgrade. I tow a LOT and sometimes the truck tows really heavy boats, 6,800 is the heaviest to date. The truck stops on a dime with 37" tires.

Not one issue with this upgrade yet!

Finished my brake upgrade thanks to this thread. I wound up picking up some new 17" wheels, so I did discs and calipers not just the master/booster like my initial plan. Definitely a noticeable improvement in braking power and pedal feel. Everything went pretty smooth with my install. I really had to wrench my custom made lines I made into the master and the steel couplings pretty tight. Like way tighter than I thought.

Only additional parts needed for the manual trans are the bracket and resi, which comes with the float and cap. I had the bolts for the fender scavenged from other places.

Biggest challenge for me was making my fuse panel work with the larger tundra master and booster. If you have stuff up there in that location, plan accordingly.

Great mod! I feel a lot better about stopping this beast now.

Got any pics and part numbers of the clutch master bracket and resi that you used?

Remote clutch master reservoir PN 31402-20160.

Remote clutch master res Bracket PN 31408-60010

If you're searching on a Toyota dealer site, either of those should bring up the diagram in the event you need the bolts or other related parts.

Final pic...can't really see the bracket.

Did you use the $30 tube as well (31434-35050) or were you able to get the original hose to work?

I cut like 2-3 inches off the old hose. No need for a new one.
