I got my first tattoo when I was 29. I was long since out of my parents house and in my own house by then, but my dad and I would go hunting together every October. So one night he noticed it (bald eagle on my right shoulder). He stared at it for a couple minutes.... asked "When did you get the eagle put on your arm?" I told him. Then he said "back when I was younger, only assholes had tattoos"...... That was in 1996. To this day, I am still not quite sure how he meant that. Either "that was then, but I get it, times have changed", or "you're a dumbass!" I got several more over the years, he never said another thing at all about tattoos to me.
