Are you using the magnetic holder or the newer MagSafe wireless charging mount that CM offers? I just purchased the MagSafe version for my iPhone 12 and am hoping it holds strong (should arrive next week). Its expensive at $90 but I love the clean look and (hopefully) strong MagSafe magnet.

A mag mount can be okay for smooth road use; but I have never seen a mag mount work well off road. If most of your driving is pavement; shouldn't be an issue; but you might need some sort of modification or plan to keep your phone in place if going off road.

Just an update that I received and installed my CM wireless magnetic charger (without the extender piece). Install is super easy and it holds my iPhone 12 very well. I ran the cable through the dash and out the floor of the passenger side to connect to the cig lighter. So far, I am very impressed. I even get the iPhone animation when the phone is charging.

Little of this, little of that.
I’d be curious to know if your phone slips or falls during normal riding conditions and off-road/dirt roads!

Ill let you know about day-to-day driving, but dont do much off-roading. So far, I drove over a few speed bumps to test it and it held strong.

I've had the magnetic charger installed for a week now. The iPhone 12 holds strong and hasn't fallen off once while driving in the city and freeway. I've hit speedbumps at 15mph, held on tight. So far I am very pleased with the charger! It does jiggle a little at times, but not enough for it to be an issue. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a clean looking wireless charging mount!

To run the USB cable, I removed the radio faceplate and then the radio. I then put a wire hanger thru the far back right side of insert and it come out on the passenger side floor. I then snuggled it up and plugged into cig lighter usb. I cut a small hole in the faceplate to allow the wire to pass freely and the faceplate to snap back in. The whole process took about 15 mins

Do you have any photos of how you routed it with a hanger. You mean you fed the hanger with the cable taped to it and pulled it out of the floor board ?Bit confused on what you mean by cutting a hole in the faceplate and how you

Sorry for the confusion. Yes, I taped the USB cable to end of hanger and then routed the hanger through back right side of opening where the stereo was. It comes out through the passenger floor and I then plugged the USB into the cig lighter charger. I know it’s not clear as I explain it but once you remove face cover and radio you can see daylight and that’s where hanger feeds to. I cut a small hole in the faceplate that snaps over the radio. The hole is near the mount and allows YSB cable to move freely. You don’t need to do this step but the faceplate snaps on easier and cable moves easier. You can see in my pics there’s a small opening for cable

That’s about exactly what I figured just wanted to clarify. I just ordered one with their 15% off. I see the hole now, just thought it was already there for some reason. I’m so weary of putting holes in my car for some reason lol

Congrats on the purchase! I think its the cleanest looking solution available and my iPhone 12 hasn't fallen off the mount once (street driving, no off-road). You dont need to cut the faceplate, but it does help the wire slide easier and the faceplate snaps back on much easier without pinching the USB cable. The hole I cut is very small, only the size of the cable itself and its basically unnoticeable.

Just received mine! Did you get a open circle metal piece with yours instead of the solid shape piece? How much of your cable is showing going into the passenger side?

Im not sure what you mean by open metal piece, you can see what I got in the pics - the wireless magnetic charger. Here are a few pics from the passenger side - I just put black duct tape to hold the wire and hide it.

Sorry I mean the piece you put on the back of the phone is an open metal ring with no center. I’ve seen other people have a flat square or some shape. Is there no way to route the cable straight down? Meaning, behind the screen cover and behind the climate control or would it not close with the cable there.

I only got the round part that screws on to secure the mount. It’s possible to run the cable straight down but you might need to cut a small hole to make sure the bezel snaps back into place.

So I tried your method, but it doesn’t even seem like the cable is long enough to reach once you put the screen back in.

You need a 6 ft cable for it to reach. If the cable is less than 6 ft there’s no way it will reach.
