That may be true and something would have to be worked out , but China has us by the short hairs. If we can’t get the drugs people are going to die. And the people most affected are us 60+ with hypertension, heart disease, diabetes etc. I put this out as food for thought and not for argument.

That's perhaps a valid point... but I'm not so sure.

I know my wife has to pay close to $50 for her asthma inhaler... and the same inhaler, same brand, same "manufacturer", same label... is FIFTEEN CENTS in Cuba.

I suspect drug manufacturers charge what the market will bear depending on the availability of money in an economy rather than what they need to make a legitimate profit margin. Of course they have also invented a lot of scare tactic excuses for their mark-ups... and we and government have swallowed it.

I don't remember the exact figures, but I read an article about when the AIDS medication became available and how much cheaper it was in Africa than the US, the cost difference was substantial for the same drug.

I worked for him. He was a brilliant man and could look right into your soul. But his focus was on building his company above all else and if he could make a penny more by saying he was buying American... and actually buying foreign goods... he'd do it without a qualm.

So if I read that right, what you’re saying is that he was an out and out liar. That’s a pretty strong accusation, you worked for him, did his lies often catch up with him?

Well the "Made in America" one did. It didn't last long and they quit the pretense.

    And "his company" lied...

Did he? In many ways he was more complicated than that.

A cable actuated emergency stop is a nice option and not very expensive. Functionally it is the the same as the emergency stop button, pulling the cable anywhere in the run sets it.

I've been working on the pole barn since we got over covid and the kids had to be diverted. I was sweating getting the trusses up and my sister and her significant other decided to drive 700 miles to visit. He's got a terrible back but he wanted to help. Then my brother heard she was visiting and he and his wife showed up from Vegas. A good time was had by all and before everyone left the trusses were up and the roofing felt was on. My wife and I put up the metal roof in one day and began the siding today.

Yeah, two of them, nicer one under the tarp. Not mine, but I've been thinking of making an offer. I had one in high school and loved it. But these cars are four-doors. The trade off is that I'm old and four doors would be nice for hauling other old people. I have a '50 on my side of the fence.

I needed the laugh this morning.

Impressive and TY for the pics.

Going out and doing the Thanksgiving meal shopping this morning. After that it is hooking up a DVD player to an old friends TV. I need to make an appointment for a CAT scan today from my cardiologist visit yesterday, I have not had one in 2 years. Another busy day on the phone. Need to have a prescription refilled and make an appointment with my investment broker. It is Friday so it is Laundry day. Along with a guitar practice session that will be a full day.

    Have a great day everyone.
