Curious if lunar rock is a single stage paint like super white. I saw one up close today and honestly couldn’t see a definitive clear coat…but it could have been the lighting

Ah really? That’s kind of a bummer. My local dealership has one I was almost considering trading my mgm for but probably won’t now haha

Don’t think that’s a good reason not to? Plenty of people with single stage that last 20+ years

I don’t doubt that at all. It’s just my personal experience with a single stage white Corolla where the paint essentially disintegrated after 20k miles, even after being garaged and taken care of properly (two bucket wash with grit guard, new microfibers for drying, sealant, etc etc).

This is for @zmanlane and or anyone else that was curious about Bronze against LR. Took a few more pics of the local dealers demo. It was an unusually sunny PNW day, sorry for the glare.

I’ve paint corrected my truck and I’ve also had my truck scuffed in a fender bender. I am 99% positive with it being single stage.

When I originally took delivery of my LR pro I had an issue with the paint and filed a warranty claim with Toyota. There were dark spots all over the truck that I originally mistook for tire shine cast off, but after trying to wash the truck I realized was not coming off. I had to wait a few months for a regional field technical specialist to come to town and inspect my vehicle first hand. After he did a series of tests and images he stated that whatever the issue was happened between the clear coat and base coat and was not anything I could have done post vehicle delivery, validating the warranty claim for me. Any who, that’s my long winded way of suggesting that per Toyota’s own specialist I suspect that this not a “single stage” color. So take that info for whatever it’s worth. But if you would rather stay with MGM (an awesome color in it’s own right) then by all means leave the LR for someone else

thank you my friend! Looks better there but I’m still sticking with a black! I feel like a bright color would look great too. Maybe purple. But that would be crazy haha.

idk why they went with red 4x4 bedside logo for 2022. I like the all black best.

Your welcome and very happy to do it. I’m sure tickled with my black ones, and the TRD lift, tires etc. love the change in ride, stability etc. drove it all over the place last night. They had all three wheel colors on display so it was easy to compare and decide. I only wish they did them in gloss black, but that’s not hard to accomplish if one chooses to down the road. :)

Disappointed that Toyota didn’t put LED lights on the OR Premium up here in Canada.

According to this guy’s experience it does have clear coat. Unless I’m reading it wrong.
