I tried to pull up on the knob but it's not budging. I dont want to break it! Lol. How hard should it be?

 

No chrome on my SR5 mirror knobs. One less thing to blackout!

My 2021 TRD Sport is exactly like that. No chrome on the mirror knob, from the factory.

*shrug* I had to go look, but my 21 OR doesn’t have chrome there either.

 

Damn. Seems I'm all alone in this large, lonely world.

 

My '17 OR also has it w/ chrome.

That and my MT center console are the only things still chrome inside or out. I like the shrink-tube solution, maybe this weekend.... Waiting for ME-SO to offer the center console someday

 

Looks like they changed it for 2021.

 

I believe it may have been changed in 2018 or 2019.

 

I don't think Meso will ever offer a blackout solution for the MT cup holder surround. Apparently not enough demand. Do like I did and strip the chrome yourself. It's easy but time-consuming. Pop the trim piece out and soak in strong bleach for 2 weeks. The chrome plating will be dissolved. You can leave it black or paint in a desired color.

 

My tennis shoes have chrome around the shoelace eyelets. I refuse to wear them when I'm in my Tacoma.
So I got these car shoes instead ...

My 2020 Pro has the black version of this switch from the factory, whereas the 2017 SR5 I drive for work has the chrome version. Although I went to war on the interior chrome in both trucks because of the glare issue, this switch doesn't bother me in the work truck because it's barely visible and has never caused any glare issues since it's tucked up close to the door. If it were my personal truck I'd probably get OCD and black it out though haha

 

So I’ve been contemplating doing the interior chrome delete and found every part I needed except for this little switch and it would have bugged the crap out of me. Knowing I can do this just solidified my plans…I’m doing it.
